BeyondTime Posted July 19, 2019 https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/17/world/asia/japan-fire-animation-studio.html Kyoto Animation created several anime series that were turned into Volks Dolls, K-On, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. There is a Go Fund Me setup to raise money to help the victims. And Crunchyroll setup a page for people to post messages of support. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
cfx Posted July 19, 2019 This is really awful. I loved Sound! Euphonium and especially Sound! Euphonium 2.
Monty Posted July 20, 2019 I'm devastated by this. I dont understand how anyone could do anything so horrifying. But, I'm wary of that gofundme. Even if the source is benign (Sentai), there is no guarantee that KyoAni will even receive those donations due to red tape about this kind of thing. A better way to support them is by buying the highres images on their website, there's a guide here. https://twitter.com/mimiko_kupo/status/1151839926620577793?s=20 *twitter*instagram*art*

As far as the Go Fund Me, I can't really comment on the red tape aspect, but raising funds for something this way and not using them for the stated purpose is illegal, and we have prosecuted people for doing exactly that in the US.
