Blank Heads **Possibly* Coming in August!!

Lol, I never noticed how cross eyed Smart Dolls were until I got my first Dollfie Dream😂 I still love them tho

I don't think Danny is still waiting on "nice weather" for photos, for some reason this has been extremely delayed Perhaps a production issue?

If the heads were ready, I'm sure Danny would set up a light box to get "just right" photos

I'm wondering if with how hard he is marketing to children, he'll kibosh the whole thing.

It seems to me that other projects have taken priority. I suspect Supergirl the most. There are probably others as well. I sure hope he's going to release them, I need Trinitys blank head.

I am starting to wonder if the blank heads will end up becoming a limited release rather than a regular/basic item due to other projects that are being worked on. That would suck, especially since I always seem to miss out on the limited Smart Doll sales.

Much like..pretty much everything else that isn't a licensed doll, I wouldn't be surprised if the blank heads just got shelved completely.

I wouldn't surprised at all if he focuses on licensed dolls and scraps other dolls in favor of a higher production. There are a ton of things that have been hopefully mentioned over the past couple year all to never be heard about again or mentioned over a year later. He teased an anniversary Chi at Dokomi (spelling?) in 2018. A couple months ago her prototype photo is released, then an upgraded version of her wearing a lavender wig. And then---silence. Silence on Entropy too, whom I grew an interest in. All I see him talk about are licensed dolls now.

I know the Smartdoll building got hit hard by that typhoon in October, so that may have led to some shifting priorities too.

I would want a blank Eiji Kai head, but for the dumbest possible reason: I would totally paint an extra head so I could put Viktor in drag.

Danny's priorities are very different from the standard collector doll market, and I believe people are right in saying that licensed dolls are now a main focus ( which is such a downer for me, I've yet to see a licensed doll I HAD TO HAVE, and all of his teasers are for franchises that I'm not connected to enough).

I highly doubt we'll see these in the near future or at all, and unfortunately this sort of flip-flopping on projects is really damaging to the Smart Doll image. I'd much prefer less teasers and more concrete "we plan to release X and will notify if there is a delay". As it is making it hard to "be excited" about Smart Doll projects.

I'm really hoping I am wrong, I'd love to be able to purchase a blank head myself, but there's a lot of Smart Doll mixed signals

 

Update: someone asked in the comments on Entropy if he was still planning on releasing blank heads, and his reply was "yes ;-("

Unsure if he meant to do a winking frowny face there, but seems like it's still in the works. More people commenting and asking about them (politely) might help, as he seems to be taking some feedback on what people are interested in right now (he's currently got 5 new girls up and says he plans to release them in order of likes/popularity).

It's good to hear the blank head idea hasn't been totally shelved; I had been wondering if it was even a possibility anymore. Hopefully it'll happen at some point this year, and hopefully it won't just be a limited handful of heads that will never be restocked again.

With the Chaos Vinyl blank heads being released is this the only opportunity to get blank heads or is there still information on them being available in the future?
