Hello! Looking to get into vinyl dolls

Hello everyone!
I currently have resin (Fairyland dolls). I've been looking at Dollfies and Angel Philias the past few weeks and I'm now saving to buy my first one! 
Hope to get to know a bunch more about them here. Thanks ~

 

If you have F60s, then Dollfie Dream is an easy way to get into vinyl, because they will be able to share clothes with most of your F60 girls! My F60s and DDs share their wardrobe quite frequently. They can usually share wigs, too.

Angel Philias are much more petite. They're too big to use MNF clothes, but way too small for F60 clothes. I only have one AP but she's really gorgeous and worth the extra time it takes to find clothes and shoes.

That's good to know! I found some really nice outfits on legenddoll. Shoe wise, do their feet fit F60 shoes? 

Yes their size seems pretty interesting. I watched a comparison video and it's hard to believe theyre the same 1/3 as Dollfies haha!

Dollfie Dreams come in a few sizes, so the fit will vary a bit depending on which you like. DDS is smaller than DD so clothing fits will be a bit looser. DDP is about the size of Azone 50, and is supposed to be able to share clothes with them. 

DDDy is a bit of an outlier in clothing fits, but I don’t have one myself so it’s hard to compare. They share some outfits with SD16, and SD16 is a fair bit bigger than a DD. SD16 are taller, and have broader shoulders.

Volks does a good job marking their clothing with which dolls it fits, so be sure to look for that in the listing. Not everything for SD16 will list a fit for DDDy, and some things that fit DD L Bust will list a fit for DDDy. 

Stuff made specificallly for one doll model may fit a different doll model, but do so imperfectly. At least in my own experience.

Volks usually tells you what doll is being used to model an outfit in their product photos, and it’s a good idea to search about for photos of your doll model in a particular outfit before buying it. 

There are enough people here with DDDy, that you can probably get some suggestions on clothing fits as needed.  

If you’re looking at a standard model, she will come with a white slip to wear. You can always get her, and then try your existing doll clothing for fit. If it didn’t fit well she’ll have that slip to fall back on until you can get her something that does. 

One thing to watch for is that vinyls are much more likely to stain from clothing than resins, and especially with dark clothing. Black wig caps are an issue too, so I would buy a cloth protective head cap with the doll, and a stand if you can manage be it. I’ve had a DD stain from a bit of grime on a bookshelf I set her on briefly.  

Cauldroness knows way more about dolls and the DDDy body than I do, so her info here is probably your best resource.

Basically, DDdy has wider waist, hips, thighs and larger bust than the regular DD body.

Ah, in terms of DDdy/F60 compatibility, it's so-so. F60 is a closer match to a standard DD (the F60 waist is slightly larger, the F60 legs are slightly shorter, otherwise they are pretty close). 

That said, it's likely you have clothes in your F60 wardrobe that a DDdy could borrow! 

- DDdy bust is bigger than F60 (even bigger than F60 glamour) so DDdy might be too busty for your F60 clothes, especially shirts/dresses that are tight at the chest; looser & stretchy items may still work

-DDdy has bigger hips and thighs than F60, so pants & shorts (especially ones with a tight fit) will be too small -- however, looser skirts & dresses will work just fine, as will looser/stretchier pants/shorts

-DDdy has longer legs, so "normal" pants on F60 would be clamdiggers/pedalpushers on a DDdy

As for shoes, there are some DD shoes that are too small for F60, but almost all shoes made for F60's flat foot will also work for DD

Wigs are 8-9 size for both!

Thank you! For the staining, My dolls are all white/light pink themed so those wont stain at all?

White should be fine, and I don't think I've ever had an issue with pink and other pastels, but as far as I know any color can bleed through given enough time.
