DD 2019 Preorder: Master (Gudako) and Mash

Get Hype! I feel like it's impossible to predict Volks preorder, who knows who they will pull out of their pocket. I always want it to be CCS, but no luck so far haha.

I thought I remembered those being discussed here, which is why I assumed this was maybe a normal occurrence. I knew Nier was differeint due to SQEX.

With Im@s it wasn’t really teases, it was more that something weird happened and the dolls got revealed before the countdown had finished. I still think this was an error and was why Saber and Jeanne had a much shorter countdown of only a week or so. But their countdown had the same problem of ‘correcting’ itself depending on which timezone it was viewed in, meaning only people in Japan or its timezone were seeing the correct amount of time remaining (people in the US for example had a whole extra day on the timer... but the timer changed to a pic of the new dolls for everybody regardless of timezone at the same time). So maybe that’s why there’s no countdown this time, although idk what’s so hard about making it show the same time remaining for everybody. Having a timer made it more exciting!

I’m thinking iM@S, it’s been a year since the last release. 

I think my top hope would be FF-X, or the trio from X-2. 

Pleaaase be some of the remaining 765 girls- Ritsuko <3, Azusa, Hibiki, or the twins!

I have feared Final Fantasy releases ever since they got Nier. It would just be too awesome.

I mentioned in another thread, but maybe FF7 girls to go with the remake release - DDy Tifa, DD Aerith & DDS Yuffie.

Mika, Rin, Shiki and Kirari are my favorite girls on this planet. Three of those haven't been made and I will scream so loud the forum will be able to hear me in the distance if Mika or Kirari come out.

I really don't see why not; Smart Doll Mika is long sold out by this point. Since Volks likes to do dolls in pairs too (see Rem and Ram) they can do Mika and Rika.

I'd love bandori DDs, tho I think its unlikely. The previous Bushiroad IP to get dolls was done by azone (love live), and Bandori is just now getting figurines and Nesos, its probably too early for something like that. 

 

Also if they did make dolls it'd probably be poppin party bcuz that's the "main character" band. (even tho i'd rather have roselia first out of the two...... but hhw is still my fav rip)

I definitely think the original Tifa has DDy worthy thighs, so I guess you must weight 1k lbs 😛 The remake Tida has stick legs (and if you think they look exactly the same, well then... xD)

What about FF 15 Lunafreya though? She could also be in the run, if we're talking about FF. I know it's not likely at all, but they also did the FF8 Remaster, and I would kill for a Rinoa DD, personally. 

Also, I see a lot of talk about Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. A lot of fanart, a lot of lots of. Dunno if Volks could get themselves a hold of a license for it, but if they did, I think they'd get a positive response to it.

Tbf OG Tifa was literal pixels, not thicc at all. Lunafreya would be cute, especially since the Nier dolls showed that Volks can combine their style with a more realistic look. If it's another fate character, it's possible they might do Alter Jeanne since they already have the mold. 

I think any Square Enix dolls are probably unlikely, as they'd probably want to announce it themselves (as I believe they did with the Nier dolls?). They're also famously protective of their IPs so I'm actually surprised Volks got the licence for the Nier ones. 

Personally I've love for it to be Gray from the Lord El Melloi II Case files along with Reines (Waver is a pretty slim chance at best =.=;;)

Cardcaptor Sakura would be lovely and they might also do Chii since she was one of volks' first dolls and it's their 20th anniversary I think?

Oh God, I sure hope not for the sake of my financial wellbeing- the Dolpa Chii is one of my grail dolls of all time and if we got a DD of her I might die just a little bit- I'm already gearing up for the pain my bank account will experience when Sailor Jupiter and Venus inevitably come out for Dolpa, a new Chii doll would be the end of me for sure 😂

Last picture I'll post about it, but imo Tifa was thicc even in "pixels" xDD (it would be fun if we saw a DDB with square arms for Cloud though)

I would be ecstatic to have Gray. I don’t how likely that would be this year because Volks seems to take a while to finalise licenses, meaning it would have had to probably been arranged a while ago and Case Files only started to get super popular after the anime came out -this season-. Then again Waver already has an petworks fashion doll coming out and I’m expecting an announcement for a Gray pure neemo pretty soon so who knows really (Azone work differently though..) I’d personally prefer a SD of older Waver. A DD youger Waver would be amazing and I’d probably cry, half because I love Waver and half because I already spent a lot on a commission and still have more to spend to finish it lol.

however...what do you mean precure dolls...? Azone are doing precure 50cms but ive never heard anything about Volks. Do you mean this? 

It’s actually Prism Palette, not a precure, and isnt a license announcement - there was some kind of Prism Palette exhibition with a custom DD on display credited to Dolpa dealer ‘tasapon’. I don’t know if we can expect anything else from that, especially because it’s from back in July and because it’s not made by Volks themselves - I just assumed they advertised it as a way to advertise DDs. (The article actually has the fact that it’s a custom character and not a license announcement as a disclaimer.)

Sorry, yes that was what I saw a while ago but didn't really get a chance to properly look into it. Ok so it won't be a pre-cure doll, thanks for clearing that up.

Case files has been very popular in Japan as a light novel and manga for some time which is why the merch is coming out really fast and it's even getting a stage play so could be possible if Volks were involved last year while the anime was being produced. 

I wish there was a countdown on the page. I know it was a little wonky in the past but at least then I’d know when to refresh the page. As is I’ll spend most of the day refreshing!

So... we should be seeing it like any hour now right?

I see it in the fanart, but not herself. Regardless I'm not a FF fan in the slightest, but having some dolls of them would be really pretty I think with how good Volks outfits can be. :3 I mean it won't be, but we can dream lol
