Chance of Arle rerelease?

I've been holding off on getting an Arle head secondhand because there hasn't been news about an MDD release from Volks in... a long time. I don't remember if we ever saw the results from last year's voting on past models but Arle to my knowledge is quite popular for an MDD. Anyway, I just love her little smiley face and I don't know if it's worth it anymore to keep waiting on a rerelease that may never come even though I could get the whole doll for the price of just her head secondhand lol. Any thoughts?

Volks will surely release something from the combined DDP/MDD voting category. They never announce the poll results other than releasing something. The rest of the rereleases should, hopefully, come by the end of next year.

I'm in the same boat as you! Myself, I'm going to keep waiting. Honestly, it's impossible to guess what Volks will do or when, but it sounds like a lot of people are hoping for that Arle rerelease, so I imagine plenty of people voted for her. I think chances are good, it's just a matter of playing the waiting game.

I think that Arle and Cirno are the MSD more wanted, they are very expensives in the second hand market, i love both and hope they will be re-released in lotery and non in click war.

I voted for her every day because I knew people wanted her. 

Its frustrating because we don't know when the MDD rerelease is happening, let alone if there will even be one. It's maaaybe December but I've been wrong all year already, so...

I also voted for her every day and I think the winner will likely be her or Cirno but it's not like I expected Miku to win for DD...

I think Miku was an outlier, she’s Miku after all. 

I see people asking after a Miku rerelease all the time on Facebook.

 

Based on conversations had here over the polls at the time, I think many of us voted on dolls we wanted that are expensive and difficult to find on the aftermarket or if there weren't three we were personally interested in, picked such dolls that others wanted.

Based on what actually happened, I guess in the larger picture people didn't do that; they just looked over the pictures of the dolls available to vote for, said "I LIKE MIKU!!!" and voted.

At Mandarake, I believe Arle's price has gone up. There is one unused one available, for 160,000 yen. Perhaps I misremember, but I remember the price as being 130,000 last time I noticed her.

While I think there were plenty of people who genuinely wanted a Miku rerelease for whatever reason (most likely that they just wanted to be able to buy her new, maybe cos they don’t trust the aftermarket or whatever), I also get the feeling there was a misunderstanding as to what ‘best of the best’ actually means, and people were just voting literally for what dolls they think are the best in each category. I can understand that, and I do personally think Miku is a hall of fame worthy Volks release. But...yeah.

I can kind of see both your points as valid. People do vote for what they like, even when picking politicians. I think a lot of folks who are into this are casual hobbyists as opposed to serious hobbyists, so they probably just aren't as informed. That's kind of why I mentioned all the people asking about Miku on Facebook, they are into Miku as a DD, but don't really pay attention to what Volks does month to month and year to year.

A lot of them have no interest in forums, and just prefer social media platforms that are more conversation in the moment as opposed to library of collected wisdom.

Frankly I think a lot of folks would have voted for her even if you told each and every one of them Volks will certainly release her again during Magical Mirai or Miku Expo.

Go ahead and buy the head.  Volks is sure to do a re-release after you do so.
