I would recommend for you to use normal hands for your DD they look more cute imo.  The difference with the larger hands are they have just a little more detail to them.

But its really a preference.

The pictures I posted on the old forum here http://www.dollfiedreams.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=17910 are with the large hands.

Len Kagamine came with the large hands so most pictures of him you will find with them. There are some comparison pictures on this flickr:

I don't see the large used too much, but I personally prefer them due to their shapes and proportions.

JSYK not all Len photos you see will have the larger hands, I know there are plenty of people besides me who put the regular hands on him. I actually originally bought large hands for Mel (had to buy new hands anyway because Mel doesn’t have yellow nail polish) but they looked -really- weird to me on him. I couldn’t tell if it was because they looked odd proportionately or because since he’s based on a character I draw who has pretty dainty hands it looked odd character-wise but I changed them immediately and have never used the large hands for any of my other dolls. Technically they are more proportionate in terms of real human proportions but since they look like anime characters, the smaller hands look more like anime proportions to me. It really is individual preference.

I do like how the large hands are more detailed, though.

Right, I should've said that, "Pictures of Len with yellow fingernails are likely the large hands" heh.

They look weird on him to me as well. I think it's because the sculpting on the large hands looks more feminine, especially the nails, and the yellow accentuates that. DDS being slightly smaller dolls may also make those hands look a little too large even if you like them otherwise, though I'm not sure if that's why they look odd to me or not.

I prefer the large due to the detailing, and also the shape in terms of length vs. width. There isn't much difference in length it seems, so the base of the hand looks long and narrow on the regular hands. This is especially noticable to me on the both types of the fisted hands (which are popular as "kitty" hands), which I think look very odd in the normal size. But it's obviously preference and there's no right or wrong choice.

Volks USA has this statement on the pages for the large hands:

  Quote

These larger hands give a more mature, realistic impression to your Dollfie Dream®!

I remember there used to be something also about them being more expressive for photography especially with them placed close to the face, but I can't find that now.

One other point I should make is any of the Volks gloves will likely only fit the regular hands.

The sailor moon gloves should fit large, because she came with large hands along with her regular sized defaults.

I find that large hands look too big, but that’s just my own taste.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
