Volks USA Lottery Event Windows

Historically, Volks USA lottery after events have started on a Friday and ended on the following Monday morning, and sort of announced seemingly whenever Volks feels like doing them.  Then results are provided by the following Friday.

But the recent Rem/Ram lottery had an entry period from September 1st to 10th, with results on the 20th.

And the upcoming Dolls Party LA After Event lottery will be of a similar period of October 1st to 10th.  The result timeframe isn't announced yet, but a good guess would be the 18th.

I'm wondering if the timing on these should be viewed as special and out of the ordinary.  Or does this represent a new release date philosophy on Volks USA's part?

Increasing the length of the entry window can help prevent potential customers from missing out because they forgot the event was that particular weekend.  Also, making all event entry periods the 1st through 10th of the month makes it a regular thing instead of the semi-random timing Volks USA has historically been using.  Then the end of the month becomes the shipping time.  So it could result in a reliable sort of rhythm for Volks releases.

Or it could just be because of the recent LA event and now multiple Jp releases having to be smooshed into one big USA release along with Dollfie Icon.

Any thoughts?

 

It seems like perhaps they are experimenting with different methods, like Volks Japan did last year with various ways to handle the DD releases.

I think that, though I can't remember how official this was, that there was some statement a year or so ago that Volks USA was going to try to do more of the events, and closer to the Japan dates, which seemed to be the case last year when I remember the Matoi lotteries overlapped, then this year it looked like that was getting worse with these recent clothing events, though it may have been intentional because of:

There's that too, but that seems separate from the idea of the length of the lottery periods.

Perhaps, and this is just a WAG, one reason for longer lottery periods for the dolls is that how it seems Volks makes larger quantities now. There's no proof of that beyond how the number of lottery winners seems much higher than years ago. More days surely equals more entries both from people who might forget and those who mull it over before deciding.

Whatever it is, these changes seem for the better if they continue. I know I sometimes forget about the lotteries here, in my case I'm sure in part because I typically deal with Volks Japan if I can get what I need there. I'll for sure be entering this upcoming one to try to get that SDB Abyss Black outfit I missed in the Japan clickwar.

I'll be happy if they keep this new 10-day window for lotteries.  Weekends are so busy that I would always forget that a lottery was happening!
