Staining on Tea Skintone

Recommended Posts

aurelia

I apologize if this isn't the appropriate place for this topic. For those of you with dolls that have the tea skintone, are they less prone to staining than the ones with the milk skintone? Also, do the regular stain treatment methods work on the tea skintone without changing the color of the vinyl?

Recently my milk-toned doll got some very deep stains after wearing dark clothes for about five minutes. It took a week of Oxy10 treatments for the stains to start to fade. I'm wondering if I need to be concerned about the same thing for the tea skintone, or if it's safe to put dark clothes on for a short period of time.

I would also like to know the answer to this question, not just for the Tea skin tone but also for their Cortex counterparts as well. I know that they are said to be more resistant to staining but I’ve heard that some owners that they are stain-proof. Any information would be helpful, thank you!

@aurelia I would always wash dark clothes before you put them on your dolls. Be careful!

Tea skin SmDs aren't really less prone to staining than Milk ones. On the darker skin, the stains just may not show as prominently.

For stain treatment I can report that dream rescue works just as fine on Tea skin, as it does on Milk.

Thank you so much for the information! Good to know!

This thread will probably help you out:

Also I have to add, in the post above I'm only referring to vinyl body SmDs - I have no experience regarding Cortex bodies and if Dream Rescue is even a viable option for them.

Oh, okay! I did think it was for Cortex, so thank you for clarifying. Hopefully someone out there has the answer. 🙂

Stain removal products that use peroxides as their main stain removing ingredient never go "bad" as in spoiling like cottage cheese or anything like that, but they do lose potency after about 12 months. These products are best used when new. You can still use old product and they will work but much, much slower and it may take many more treatments.

This is one very good reason to buy Remove-Zit from Twin Pines of Maine. Remove-Zit stain remover is not kept in stock. Instead a fresh batch is mixed when an order is placed so you are guaranteed the product you receive is at full potency. It will arrive with a "Best if used by" date (month/year) written on the container.

I know this is a little late but I have a tea doll and had him in dark clothing that stained his fingers. They were resting on a darker dress. I would be just as careful with dark clothing and tea as with milk.

Once the DD rescue cream comes back in stock I'm going to try it out myself.
