Meowjima Posted October 4, 2019 I had installed, several times, Follow Me Eyes before the official ones were released. I really didn't think they were a good fit for a few reasons. The eyes themselves were a little thick/bulky, especially for Kanata, and absolutely impossible to use the eye placement kit I had recently got (instead of using putty, it's instead a small device meant to fit inside a SD skull, using double-sided tape. It also allows you to move the eyes around). I also always had issues placing them right/they always seemed, well, cock-eyed to me. So, after removing these eyes, and intending to use my kit.... I realized I had lost Kanata's original eyes. However, I always really liked the color, especially combined with the blond wig as a look for my doll. To the point I even purchased a blonde wig of the more-or-less same color, albeit in a bun, to wear with her kimono.
Siara Posted October 6, 2019 Loving the eyes ^__^ I've seen the kit for sale a few times but being old school as I am I'm still adjusting them by hand for every shoot. Your girl looks gorgeous in all these shots. Sad to hear you seem to have lost her original eyes.
Starwaia Posted October 6, 2019 I love these, the last pic especially! Kanata's eye makeup is very expressive. Yours is very cute! I was interested in the follow me eyes as well but kind of felt that the original eye placement for the regular ones is kind of like that already. I may have to look into these kits, I hate doing eye placement manually and it could be very useful for photos. I know the official/original placement they come with seems cross-eyed to a lot of people, and while I don't mind it, your pics definitely show off the use of eye placement well. I also really like your girl's outfit! She definitely has a cute style. Currently watching BNHA, 1-2 episodes behind on the anime rn and absolutely obsessed! (being in a fandom late has made dodging spoilers an issue tho ) More into Nendoroids and my resin BJDs rn- including some BNHA character shells hehehe - my Smartdolls are boxed up at the moment but I'm still happy to talk dolls and doll plans! Resilient Posted January 29, 2023 Where do you get ''Follow me eyes'' ?
PolitelyNefarious Posted February 9, 2023 @Resilient Primarily through Etsy sellers and similar crafting sites. The eyes are created by printing a graphic design onto a sheet of paper, and then gluing that paper to the flat side of a glass cabochon. The dome on the cabochon is wider and flatter than the dome of a Dollfie eye, and rarely fits as well inside of most models. They usually work best on dolls with large sockets and eye openings, whereas Katana here is a dreaming-eye sculpt. Of course the tradeoff is that wonderful illusion of continual eye contact, and if you can find a good model for the fit, the effect is amazing.
