End-of-life for Dollfie Dream white skin parts

After November 30, 2019, white skin parts will no longer be sold.

As my understanding of Japanese is imperfect, if there's more to it than that, hopefullly someone else can clarify. Most of the rest of the text there is about events they are having to clear out the inventory of these parts.

Aww that sucks.  So no replacement parts for Saber Alter or Mariko or any other WS girls anymore.  Not cool.  

I'd like to know what's up with that bag of boobs tho.  If I read it correctly they are including one of each size chest in a big bag for cheap?  If so I need to figure out how to get one of those!  None of my WS girls use the L-bust but I wouldn't mind having one just in case I change my mind later on.

I think this is worth discussing.

The promotion takes place from 10/1 to 11/30 at Akihabara Dollpoint. The promotion ends on 11/30 or when the inventory of promotional items are depleted, whichever comes first.

1.) For every 10,000 yen purchase of applicable* items, you get a wig and a pair of white wrist frame parts. (What type of wig isn't specified. It's best to assume it's random until we get a confirmation from someone who visited Dollpoint in the date range.)

2.) The "Heart Pounding Lucky Bag" costs 3000 yen, limit 3 per customer. Each bag has two white bust parts. The sizes are SS, S, M, L, and L shapely. Which two are in each bag is random.

 

The bags are marked "for DD" or "for DDS".

* = "Applicable" items mean non-consumable Volks branded items. Items such as parts, wigs, clothing, and tools apply here. (While whether an entire doll is an applicable item isn't mentioned, if you buy a 70,000 yen doll, you could get 7 wigs + 7 pairs of white wrist frames if this holds up.) If you're lucky, consumable items such as Dream Rescue, water wax, oil mist spray, etc. won't be excluded. (I've had instances of being told consumable items aren't considered applicable but they sometimes were in other situations.) I know for a fact consignment items are excluded and will always be treated as "non-applicable".

Ahhh, thank for the explanation!  I thought ALL the different sizes of busts were in the bags, not just 2.  XD

Just like in life, the bust size you receive is determined at random, except here you get a choice of two.

Aaand Billy always seem to choose between extra large or extra extra large.

Well, it was well speculated since they didnt do the color for F3, but it is a bit of an annoyance that they are now actually discontinuing the color from general purchase.

But what really adds to the annoyance is that at the moment you cant get all the pieces for a DDS or DD white skin body from the japanese web store, so if you have floating white skin heads (three main one's personally), thats about it for them getting bodies now -- which is sort of the story with white skin in general... only once every third full moon did they have all parts in stock.

At least the ones Volks hands out are not lopsided. 😈🤣

This is sad as i still dont have all the white skin hands for my girl. I guess later on if the white is to hard to get I might swap my Sensei Mariko for a semi white one. =/ 

This is bad news for my Santa Alter, because she has a small crack on the inner frame of her arm where a screw is. Neither of the two Volks websites have any arms left in stock, so I'll have to smear some super glue in and hope for the best.

I don't know what you're referring to, super glue won't do much, you'd want to use 5-minute epoxy for anything strong. Those are two part glues, make sure you have exactly equal amounts of both parts and you mix very thoroughly before applying (follow instructions for timings, how long to stir, etc).

I didn't know. Thanks for the info cfx. 

For anyone new to the hobby, this is only of concern if you're buying older dolls. The last white skin release was Santa Saber Alter in 2016, and she was a rerelease. Before that the last one I believe was Lucy Maria Misora who was early 2012, unless one of the white skin Akihabara Girls variants came after that.

I hope they will discontinue selling in the shop, but keep something available on the online store until they clear the stock.

My main problem are now hands. I don't have many ws hands and if they stain I won't be able to change them...

They will keep selling them in the shop and in their online stores, until they clear the stock. Like how they did with the older frames.

To be safe, I would just try to get the hands or any other parts you want as soon as possible. I didn't see anything in the announcement to clarify how/if parts will be available after the November 30 date. The III-series frame parts were discontinued at all stores other than Dollpoint after the cutoff date for them, and with those Volks didn't have these special events to try to quickly clear out the stock.

If you have someone in the US that would send you things, VolksUSA still has the wrist joints and some other parts that Volks Japan is out of.

I was thinking about this yesterday in terms of things that I might want to get spares for, as some of the old frame parts in other colors may be gone for good already, like arms are mostly out of stock and I think have been for a long time now. I think it's the harder vinyl parts like hands and feet that are what can get stained where it's difficult or impossible to remove completely?

I really wanted a white skin DD but the color doesn't seem that different from semi white after seeing a comparison photo on here last week. If they did a true paper white I would be sad because I'd definitely like that for a character! The thought of how easily white DDs must stain is scary though lol.

I currently have a white doll on layaway rip me. I figured it was going to happen sooner or later, though, given that it's basically a discontinued color. My pipe dream is that once they make stock room they'll start selling tan parts online >.>;

Since as of this writing there's a little under 80 minutes left before the Dollpoint campaign ends, this might not matter much. The "applicable items" refers to WS parts. If you buy an outfit + wig + VN86 and go over 10,000 yen like I did a few hours ago, you don't get the wig + frame. You have to buy WS parts, period, to qualify.

Looking at the Volks blog post again, I feel silly. What "applicable items" are is clearly written in the blog post. They are the WS parts and the lucky boob bag.

Was there any indication if the white skin parts wouild continue to be sold after the campaign ends i.e. sell stock until it's gone, or are they going to just remove it all from stock and...dispose of it or whatever they do with leftover things they no longer sell?

At minimum, since all the announcements about this were only in reference to Volks Japan, and only in Japanese, the Volks USA webstore will likely keep selling the parts until they sell out of them, as with the few DDII parts they continued to sell.

There was no indication I noticed. If I'm not dead tired after I-doll tomorrow, I can visit Dollpoint again after the show to see if there are any WS parts left in the store (or if they were removed).

They usually sell what stock they have left at DollPoint. The rest they keep in their warehouses, and their Partner/Friend Shops sell off.

...and I had too much on my plate after I-doll to visit Dollpoint. I'll be back in Akihabara some time next week before I catch my flight home. I'll be sure to take a look through Dollpoint again before my flight.

I actually foresaw this years ago, but then so many years went buy I stopped worrying.                                                              Then they re-released WS Saber so I thought perhaps there would be more WS releases, or at the very least they wouldn't be giving away WS busts as parting gifts. 

At Dollpoint as of this writing. Any traces of the WS parts are now gone.
