Ordering from Volks International Site In USA?

Is it possible to place an order on Volks International website with shipping to the USA? I added Ribbon to my cart but when PayPal transfer me back to Volks International website it has a warning in Japanese which Google translate says is something like could not process payment please try again. I checked my funds and made sure all the fields are filled in. But can't complete checkout. I can add Ribbon to my cart, enter my details (it pulled the info from my page) and I can checkout which takes me to PayPal but then on the way back after confirming with PayPal and being sent back to the international site it gives me this error. I can't figure out if it's because she's sold out or because I don't live in Japan or something else. She isn't on volksusa site yet and I don't know if she will be added in the future. I'm assuming yes since it is a new standard model, but then again they are marketing the icons exclusive to the US, so maybe they are marketing Ribbon and Colon exclusive in Japan although it doesn't say that anywhere. 

Volks International ships to the US. I’m not sure about the PayPal error. I’ve never had an issue with PayPal through Volks.

Direct credit card processing requires 3D Secure, and if the card doesn’t support that you get an error. 

Paypal with a PayPal account should work normally.

In my experience it is a paypal issue. As in, paypal payments does not seem to work with volks new site...
I tried to make an order, and pay through paypal, but just got error messages. So I had to resort to using the credit card option, and it went through just fine.

Hmm after reading this I was excited and tried again. Tried 2 different cards, and paypal again. Even transferred more money from my savings to my checking, even though I already had plenty, in case it was off due to the exchange rate or something, but with paypal I get unable to process settlement, and with both my cards, one visa and one mastercard, I get we cannot process the payment with the card number provided. Mystery lol. I guess it is a sign I should wait and save my money - hopefully they appear over on the volksusa store soon.

Are you doing payments with a card registered with a PayPal account? Or are you punching in a card using PayPal as the card processor? I’ve never done the latter, and that one could require some sort of card verification which your cards may not support. I’ve never had any issue paying with my PayPal account. I’ve ordered a lot of stuff through Volks Japan, and had it shipped to the US.

I tried PayPal through the web without a card number, then tried paying with credit card instead using my PayPal debit MasterCard, and also a bank debit visa card not attached to PayPal at all, none of them went through. But I'm sure the girls will be up on the USA site eventually. I'm just too impatient lol.

I’ve never had that happen, but it’s been a few months since I ordered through Japan.

And it is not a security issue with your card/bank then? Like, you need to authorize it for certain (/overseas) transactions?
I'm out of ideas then.

Thanks for your help / suggestions. I don't think it's an authorization thing (unless my 2 cards don't support the 3D secure thing). I have purchased from buyee, aliexpress, crobidolls, dollmore, fairyland, and other doll companies, which are overseas, Is 3D secure something I can setup myself (or request that my bank sets up for me?) Other than that I'm out of ideas too lol. I'm glad they are standard models at least so I really have no rush, just the sooner I order, the sooner I can have them home :).

Based on my own experiences, your card either has or doesn't have 3D secure. You don't set it up and if your card doesn't have it already, your bank won't set it up for you.

3D secure goes by several names.

MasterCard = SecureCode

Visa = Verified by Visa/Visa Secure

AMEX = American Express Safekey

I called my cc company's customer service number and asked how this works. (This was with Chase. I can't say if the procedure is the same with other banks' cards.) With my card, the 3D secure feature isn't automatic. I was told by customer service I need to get an authorization before using the card with a specific web site.

I was asked what site I was at so the authorization process canbe performed. I then replied I was trying to find out what I needed to do and wasn't online shopping when I called and asked questions. 😅 (I haven't subsequently tried using 3D secure to make a purchase.)

If you're wondering whether your card supports 3D secure, you might as well call your bank and ask. If your card works like mine does, you will need to call to get an authorization every time you want to buy from a site requiring 3D secure. If you want certain items enough, the hassle would be worth it.

If your card works in a different manner, you still need to call your bank to ask 1.) whether your card supports 3D secure and 2.) if yes, how did you make it work with web sites requiring it?

They're standard models, so they should be available on Volks USA. Figure maybe 6 - 8 weeks from the time they released through Volks Japan at a minimum.

Hi if anyone else is having the same problem I was having, delete your postal code and leave it blank. Volks support got back to me today and told me there is an error in their website causing it to reject payment if there's a postal code entered in that field. They made it blank for me, and I was able to checkout without problems. I am pretty excited, I have some other dollfie dream heads, but this will be my first non-hybrid dollfie doll. My other 2 heads are on dreamfairy bodies. They're not bad for as low priced as they are, but not great at poseability or stability so I'm excited to see how the real body performs.

Also I accidentally contacted the usa store first as opposed to the JP store, and the usa store told me that at this time they do not have any official plans to release Ribbon and Colon on the us store, but that they are in negotiations with their headquarters and will post any future release announcements on their site and social media. They also told me they were sorry I was having an issue and to contact the JP store for more support.

I was worried at first when I got an automated email saying it may take up to a month for a reply, but about 5 minutes later a real person reached out to me and told me about the issue.  so overall pleased with the resolution. I just left the zipcode and shipping address in the remarks field at the bottom of the cart so hopefully they'll figure it out.

I had forgotten about this; there was some discussion of that some time ago here, after the Volks website was first changed. By now I would have hoped that was fixed though.

I will add that for the general topic of issues with various credit cards being rejected on Japanese or other foreign sites, I've had the issue with various cards, but have had generally good luck with a Mastercard issued by Barclays.

That’s a pretty standard response from them until they have confirmation from Japan.

Indeed, and I seriously doubt there is any way Volks USA won't be carrying standard DD models. But in general companies aren't going to announce something even privately until it's official and they are ready to announce it, and they're most always going to say "no plans" rather than "working on it" or "soon" etc.
