Jezrah Posted March 16, 2020 Ugh, I was originally scheduled for delivery today as well, but that got messed up. Last year I briefly lived with my parents while I was between houses, and when I bought my new house I put in a change of address and forward with the USPS. That was several months ago, though, so I didn't think it was still in place since they usually only do it for a limited time. I had purposely asked that Arle be delivered to my parent's house because they can sign for packages and I can't because I'm working, but she got forwarded today. The queue to speak with a postal agent is over an hour long, so I can't wait. I assume at some point I'll get a slip and I'll have to go pick her up. I don't even know which day she'll come now. Juxtaposition Posted March 17, 2020 Arle has arrived! 😍 I knew from photos she was adorable, but her expression is so sweet in person! I love the cutesy MDD proportions, as well. Arle has already become friends with Miku and will probably get along well with the rest of the doll crew, too. 🥰 Side note: I don't mind, but Arle feels heavy for a vinyl MSD-sized doll. She's my first MDD and my first doll with the DD-f3 frame. Is the DD-f3 heavier than its predecessors?

I had the opposite reaction--she was bigger than I expected! 😂 I have a resin MSD-sized doll from another company, so I guess I was assuming she'd be about his size? Then I take her out of the box, and she seems bigger than he is. Turns out that they are about the same height, but his proportions are lankier; his head is smaller. I love MDD proportions, though! 😍

I love MDD proportions, though! 😍 This is my second doll, and my first is a DDDy (not as huge as a SD16 or SD 17, but large where it counts). She is much smaller and now I have to get her the cutest outfits. I'm still wondering on whether she is a 1/3 scale doll or a 1/4 scale doll...
BeyondTime Posted March 17, 2020 Is Miku wearing heels? I don't recall the MSD size difference being quite that pronounced. Congrats to everyone welcoming her. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
Moonsour Posted March 17, 2020 SHE IS SO CUTE! I swear I'm dying over here. The detail in her faceup is simply stunning.
lardroom Posted March 17, 2020 Hahaha. I like the contrast between these two. I'm going to have fun. There's no overlap between DDDy and MDD clothes, so I just committed to an even bigger doll-shaped hole.

My first two dolls were also a DDdy and an MDD. As a result. those two have the biggest dedicated wardrobes even now, when I've got a lot more dolls.

When you filter clothes by MDD sizes on the Volks website, you get MSD-sized clothes included in the filter. However, I'd double check on the wig sizes...Arle's adorably round/large head doesn't look like it's going to fit my normal MSD-sized wigs! 😅 I'm also looking forward to getting cute outfits for her! 😊 2 hours ago, BeyondTime said: Is Miku wearing heels? Putting them side by side again, Miku appears to be about two heads taller than Arle. 🙂

Jezrah Posted March 17, 2020 I think whether MDDs are 1/4 or 1/3 depends on the topic of conversation, as well as personal preference. In the case of generically labelled clothes, they would generally be considered 1/4, though be sure not to get slim 1/4 or slim MSD clothes, because those will be too small. In the case of wigs, they still wear 8/9 like DDs, so generically labeled wigs would be 1/3. With props it will be down to the item and personal preference. For instance, a chair could be 1/4 if you want one that fits them, or 1/3 if you want them to look like a little kid sitting on normal adult furniture. The same can be said about most props, actually. Personally I tend to treat them like 1/3 most of the time as far as props go, because I like playing up the cute little kid look. But I do still have a smaller table and chairs, because it's easy to find 1/4 furniture that was meant for 18" dolls.
Jezrah Posted March 23, 2020 My Arle did end up arriving safely. The only thing I don't like from her default setup is her eyes. I ordered new eyes for her from Jadepixel, which arrived today. These are from the new spring collection, and are really pretty! I wanted to take a picture, but it had to be a crappy cell pic today because I don't have time for a proper shoot. It's also overcast today.
lardroom Posted March 24, 2020 She's so cute with the new eyes. I've been studying Arle for a few days and it's her button nose and her smile that makes her so adorable.

Yuichan Posted May 12, 2020 Yeehaw everyone! i'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, or has already been asked/discussed. I haven't won, but someone was so nice to sell me everything except the Head, when she did. My Package arrvied Yesterday, i was shooked by the Quality and the effort they must've put into it, since it was my first experience ever with Volks. But I've often heard that the outift stains, and i'm a little bit scared because of that. xD Does someone here have experience with Arle's Outfit staining? I've heard the Shoes and the Cape does, i can imagine maybe the Arm warmers aswell, but it kinda looks meh? I've been in the Hobby for almost 2 Years, but only on the Resin side, so i never actually had problems or worries abot staining, thats why im kinda paranoid about it for my new little MDD one. I think the Cape makes sense, but the Shoes aswell?
Elagabalus Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) I completely forgot to post my girl. I've been calling her Ruru because I find her full name (Aruru) is really fun to say. I adore her and she's gonna be so spoiled. I waited in line for her at Dolpa and she sold out right as I got into the doorway to purchase dolls at Big Sight, I lost her despite getting to the payment section of the clickwar, and I even lost her in the Volks USA lotto. Thankfully a friend was kind enough to sell her to me and I finally have the one DD I'd really regretted not being able to get when she first came out. EDIT: @Yuichan, I haven't tried her default outfit yet from the V2 release. A friend of mine with the V1 release hasn't had any staining with her outfit though. They did put some masking tape on the inner shoulders of the cape, I believe? You can test it out by laying parts of the outfit that you think might stain on the back of her headcap. I tested that little blue sailor dress for about a day and rubber-banded it to one of my other DDs' headcaps just to be sure it wouldn't stain 😂 I'd worry most about the thread, of all things? For example, the black material that Tohsaka Rin V2's stockings are made of doesn't stain, but the thread that the stockings are sewn with does. It seems like it took a long time to do any damage though, I only noticed the staining after about a year of wear?
