Recommendations for Doll Clothing Stores in the Tokyo Area

Hello All,

I'm going to be traveling to Tokyo early next year for the first time and wanted to include some shopping at some doll shops in my plans. So I was wondering if anyone had any they recommend, I know there are alot in Akihabara that are somewhat difficult to find? Willing to travel places as long as it is in the general Tokyo area. 

Not really looking to buy any more dolls, but more looking for places to shop for: Clothes, accessories, eyes, and wigs for the DD/DDS/DDdy spectrum.

I went to Tokyo with @animagic4u in September; we didn't go too far off the beaten path to find doll stuff in Akiba, but that's partially because there's so much in Radio Kaikan itself. Seriously, we started on the Volks floor and worked our way down, because it's Volks, Azone, the Jungle, Dolk, and Amiami all in one building. (If I recall correctly KBooks is in there too; it doesn't have much doll stuff but is definitely worth hitting up. I scored a sweet, metallic finish Nanoha Movie 1st poster there.) Mandarake is across the street; it's a treasure trove, but it'll take some time to sift through because the organization is haphazard. Also, Akiba/Complex Mandarake has these vertigo-inducing outdoor, fire-escape style stairs, but the elevator is slower than molasses in an Alaskan January so I personally still prefer those scary-ass stairs, lol. I mean, they're still loads better than Tora no Ana's.

There's also apparently a big Mandarake in Nakano Broadway. We didn't hit that one on this particular trip, but if you're questing specifically for doll stuff it's probably worth going to.

Yup, @growcian's thread is definitely the best overview of the relevant stores in japan.

When it comes to doll clothing, my personal favorite is From-SEN in Akihabara as they always have a fairly varied selection.

Mandarake Akihabara is okay but very cramped. I prefer the one in Shibuya, which also has a decent amount of doll stuff. And if you can make it to Nakano, then Nakano Broadway is definitely well worth it.

Depending on your intended meaning of "early", you might even be around for Tokyo Doll Show on January 5th in Asakusa.

Doll events are definitely great for getting clothes you may never have the chance to get anywhere else so just in case, there is also

-Doll Show Tokyo 15th March

-I-Doll Tokyo 29th March 

There’s also I-Doll events in Sendai, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya and Sapporo early 2020 too, but that’s not much help if you aren’t going to those places.

Thank you all so much for the information! I guess dates would of been helpful we are planning on 3/26 thru 4/5 to spend in and around Tokyo. If I can pull myself from the group I may be able to make it to I-Doll on 3/29 just really depends if I'd rather see the sights.

And thanks for the awesome thread I totally missed it, I already see a few stores that I want to hit up. Group does want to go to the mandrake in Akihabara but we are making a detour to Nakano Broadway on our Ghibli Museum day so I guess that is a plus.
