Volks USA Special Holiday Event

I've been clicking F5 since two minutes before the event. No luck at all yet.

EDIT: Checking most items for the event, they have become available for purchase. Of course "most items". Of course not for what *I* want to buy. 😆

Think everything is still available except the Holy Night Gifter set.

It actually let me complete the purchase on that set, but it shows as backordered on my order. I assume that means it went out of stock before my Paypal completed, but not by enough time to prevent the order from completing.

I am guessing they only had a few of those to sell from old stock.

I give up. I've been mashing F5 for over an hour and Holy Night Grifter never came out from being "out of stock".

While the Volks USA web site didn't crash to give me the true click war experience, now I've had a taste of what one feels like.

It was in stock right at 11 am, but it sold out immediately.

Which likely means if you don't have the best internet or you're currently a long way from Volks USA (say in Japan ) you might never see it at all.

I forgot, and slept through, the beginning of this event, but I had previously decided I didn't want anything from it.

Since I didn't make where I currently am a secret, I think I'll add something here.

11AM Pacific meant 4AM Japan time. I set my alarm for 3:55AM, woke up, and then attempted to win the Holy Night GRIFTER in the click war. The hotel's Internet is fairly decent. I started to repeatedly hit F5 on the HNG page at 3:58AM. It didn't matter. I lost. I gave up hitting F5 shortly after 5AM.

If it weren't for the click war, I would have set my alarm to 5AM because I had an early train to catch. Had I "won", losing an hour's worth of sleep would have been worth it. Since I didn't, all I had to show for bothering was one less hour of rest than I wanted.

Just to let you all know, Holy Night Gifter looks to be available on VolksUSA right now.

After the debacle I described above, I hadn't considered checking the normal VolksUSA site. I just got my order confirmation. Now to wait for a shipping notice. If everything else goes right, the outfit should arrive before I get home.

Since I can't NOT complain about something even when something goes right, I still lost sleep over the click war nonsense. 😆

I got a similar email Monday. I suspect what happened is that when they canceled my order their stock system automatically incremented the stock up by one, but in reality it was still zero.
