Monthly Outfits

I decided at the last minute I didn't want to leave them in their Christmas Carol outfits for Christmas, as I missed having Samus in her usual Christmas outfit.  So here's a quick second outfit set for the month.

Happy (very belated) New Year!

So I thought I'd do a little something different with this years monthly themes.  Instead of having them be as straight forward about the month they're in, they're going to be a little isosteric, and probably only feature a few of my girls each month. (Except October and December, Halloween and Christmas will always be all four girls).  So to start, for January; with the glitz of New Years and the fact that it's the first month, I thought I'd take the chance to show off some of my OOAK couture that I bought over time (because I couldn't stop myself) that I haven't had a chance to work into a normal theme.  

Here's Katie in a gorgeous gown from SiegertCreative on Etsy. inspired by Phantom of the Opera, the gown has the appearance of being partly burned/singed with hand sewn lace. 

and here is Emma in a stunning piece by SapharBJDTailoring, also on Etsy.  The delicate and intricate beadwork and color are absolutely beautiful in person.

I do have other one-offs and OOAKs, but they don't match the theme as much as these two.

It's cold, and it's February, which starts with 'F'.  I can't see why I wouldn't do a Frozen themed set for the month.  I decided to do a more Disneybound with the outfits to make it more fun and incorporate all four of the girls as different characters. 

First is Lydia as Sven showing reindeer are better than people:

Here's Katie who's a little tsundere about the whole thing, but her inner Olaf can't help but come through:

 Emma as Anna, and also as that one friend in the group who doesn't get Disneybounding and just does Cosplay:

"You said we were doing Frozen!  You said, I was Anna! I don't get why it's not right!"

and finally here's Samus, who was Elsa last year, and is Super Extra Elsa this year:

I've been editing and editing the March post and the pictures in it and I'm only making this post so I stop fiddling with them as I won't ever be happy with them.  Oh well, on to next month.

I skimmed through this thread and really loved what I saw. Samus looks great (makes me wanna shell a character myself, but for my wallet's sake I shall refrain).

April has come, and none too soon!  It's time to fling ourselves into spring and enjoy a month of flowers, jellybeans and... other fun stuff! 

Samus shows the way by throwing herself head long into the season with a lovely cherry blossom print.

Emma wearing one of my favorite dresses for her.  She's the only girl who fits into it, as the others are... well, too... yeah.  

and Katie rounding things off with the best* Easter candy, a lovely bunch of speckled Jellybeans!

(*Jellybeans are the best though speckled may not be the best variety, if you disagree you need to go to jelly school, cause you jelly)

She's living proof of how great the 07 sculpt is. You'd think she was made from an expensive limited too.

Yeah, 07 is still my favorite sculpt. It was a custom 07 that I saw that made me decide to get a custom doll made in the first place, instead of buying a Smart Doll or a base model Karin (not that there's anything wrong with either of those aesthetically).  It's just lovely.   

The girls look lovely as always I agree with 07 being an amazing sculpt. I have three, with another planned, although no. 3 & 4 are/will be modded. Still, there's a reason why I choose 07 as the base, it just looks great!

May is here, has been here, is still here.  May the 4th, Star Wars, came out in the 70s. May 1st, May Day, the day The Wicker Man takes place, in the 70s.  

Let's do a 70s month! 

We'll start with Emma and that flower girl next door vibe.

We could use a Magic 8 ball and try to figure out the future!

Or just chill and listen to some Hi-Fi man... it's all groovy.

Lydia is looking for someone to play frisbee with, far out man.

June is here, and so is the summer movie season!  I was instilled with a love for movies from an early age, and as such I look forward to the Summer for all the fun movies that'll be coming out.  So I thought it'd be fun to take a look back at some iconic costumes/characters from decades past!

 

Lydia brings the 60s back to life in the famous Givenchy dress worn by Holly Golightly that started the 'little black dress' trend from Breakfast at Tiffany's 

Hey, we did the 70s last month!  But one of my childhood favorites needed to be represented, so here's Katie as everyone's favorite brat Veruca Salt!

Gooses, Geeses, I want my Geese to lay gold eggs for Easter! 

Don't care how, I WANT IT NOW!

The 80s bring about a cult classic for our last two.  Samus starts off letting us know "You remind me of the babe...." as Jereth The Goblin King from Labyrinth.

 

Ending with Emma as Sarah from the ballroom sequence. 

"I ask for so little.  Just fear me, love me, do as I say and I will be your slave."

Thank you for saying so!  I'm glad you've enjoyed them so much! 😊  It is fun for me to go back and look at how different things were versus where they are now (in terms of how the girls are in my mind).  I hardly noticed while it was happening.

I figured it was the best quote to close things out for this theme. I just watched it with my niece and nephew, I forget how much I love it and fall in love again each time.

July has arrived, and the summer season of anime is starting, and Anime Expo is this weekend.  I'm sure you see where this is going.  Anime Cosplay month!

Emma looks really cool. Kakegurui has been about the only live action version of an anime/manga that I've enjoyed*.

*For the sanity of you and your dolls, don't ever watch the Attack on Titan live action movies!!!

I've heard as much about that Attack on Titan film, a few stills of the Titans was enough to convince me to steer clear. I'll have to look into the Kakegurui one though, I loved the anime and manga.
