Hello from Seattle~

Hey everyone. I just recently purchased my very first Volks doll. I bought the new f3 DDdy body type Towa.

 

I have the DollfieDream Snow Miku, but that’s was a gift. 
 

I also have two recasts, that I’m not too proud about... but they were gifts as well. And I figure, I didn’t buy them and it’s pointless to throw out a well made doll, even if it’s a recast. But knowing I have two of them didn’t make me feel very good. I wanted to buy a real doll that I could customize myself. I just wish Volks made high heeled feet!! I know they can fit in boots, but I wonder if they’ll fit in just regular shoes... hm. 
 

But that said, the dolls are all beautiful. And I love my Miku. I was going to buy Ram and Rem... but I fell asleep and woke up FOUR hours after it started and they were sold out. I may try to save up to buy one on eBay... but idk. May just try to customize them myself. 
 

So! That’s a little about my collection. I’m just a guy who likes to design and make clothes, and since I’m not a girl (and I mostly design female clothing), having a doll to dress up instead is way more fun! :) 

 

I found this community while looking around around for high heeled feet. Emailed Volks and they said they don’t have high heeled feet at all. So my search led me to a topic that on the second page had posts from 2015 all the way to recently in 2019. And Volks STILL hasn’t made high heeled feet. That’s unfortunate. I bought a pair from a third party site, but I don’t think it’ll fit the f3 body type. Maybe the type III but I don’t have that. They might just have to go on the 1/3 scale recast I have. She’s a really pretty doll, and I don’t know for SURE she’s a recast. But she’s definitely not made by any company I know. Same with my 1/4 scale doll. (And shes a recast for sure. I know the name of the doll, and when I got her recast as a gift, I went looking for the real doll and couldn’t find her for sale anywhere :< ) The other just has a DDdy looking body type. They’re both just BJDs.

I’m pretty new to this, so I don’t know all about the lingo used (though I’ve gotten to know the abbreviations Volks uses; and last time I bought any dolls were in 2005 or so from Pullip—Vera I think? For my girlfriend at the time).

Welcome! About eBay, here is an advice: dont buy there unless is your last option in an extreme case. The same goes for amazon. This is because, usually, the prices are ridiculous.

 

 

Welcome! as posted above, I recommend to use other sites to purchase dollfies. Ebay and other sites are full of scammers

Yeah... I notice that. Over $1000 each. But for Ram and Rem idk what else to do. I woke up late for the sale and they were all sold out. 😟

Do people sell them for legitimate prices and not buy the doll just to resell at ridiculous prices? I’ll feel like an idiot if so. lol. 
 

at least I got Snow Miku during the sale. I’m just praying I win the Rapunzel lottery

There are a few places that you could have gotten Rem & Ram. Although I keep saying this, most people forget that Volks has Official Partner and Friend Shops. Most sell worldwide. You could have found Rem & Ram there for the same Price. Here is the link. https://dollfie.volks.co.jp/shop/

Obviously some can sell at a bit higher price (not all). But not as ridiculous as what a person on Ebay , or Private seller would sell them for.

Unless Volks has more of Rem and Ram saved for a future event, you won't find them for retail price.  The best sites to check for most older/released DDs are Yahoo Japan auctions or Mandarake.  Rem is going for 88,000-100,000 yen on Mandarake right now.

yup, your best bet is to find one on Mandarake now and their prices are somewhat reasonable, because they are sold out from Volks and Official Volks sellers.

Huh... I tried only at the Volks shop. And I bought my Towa (44,500 yen) from the online shop. I wouldn’t expect to find anything anymore around that price. 
 

88,000 yen is better than eBay or Amazon. I definitely wasn’t expecting a partner shop to have it. Pretty sure it said only the Japanese Volks shop and the English one... maybe I read it wrong. But yeah Ram and Rem sold out within four hours. I fell asleep an hour before and woke up four hours late. Sucked lol.

I’m wishing I didn’t apply for the Rapunzel lottery now lol. 88,0000 for Rem and 98,000 for Ram is a lot better than I was expecting. Wonder why I didn’t think to look there, heh.

Yup, they pretty much stock everything. The Partner/Friends shops get most of the special edition Dolls the same time. So if you miss out next time try those.

Definitely keep an eye on mandarake, Dollyteria and also Facebook groups. There are some bargains there because luckily not everyone is a reseller 😄 I hope you can get them and also win Rapunzel!
