Galvatim Posted December 3, 2019 As I have both Volks DDS Rem, and Cherry Milk's Rem outfit, I wanted to compare them. Rem is in the left in her included outfit. ShibuRin is modeling Cherry Milk's take. She's on an L bust single-piece DDS body, the only other L bust DDS I have. Close up on the Volks outfit. And Cherry Milk. It's good, but Volks clearly has access to better material choices. Volks' headband is kind of strange. One single piece of plastic, which kind of locks onto the hair. It works, but it's weird. Then there's the cross hair accessory, which is again, plastic. It's not great. Cherry Milk used a wire headband with actual ribbons and little plastic flowers. I haven't used the Cherry Milk hairpins or ribbon hair accessory yet, but I like that the hairpins for the X are actual hairpins, which will probably work and look better. Volks included garter-belts attached to the stockings. Cherry Milk has the black ribbon and lacy bit at the top, but no belts. The Cherry Milk stockings are a bit too long for DDS, too. The outfit is meant more for the DD body. Over all, the Volks outfit has a crisp, factory made feel, while Cherry Milk feels like a handmade outfit. Most people will prefer Volks. I,m still happy I got the Cherry Milk outfit, but I won't be putting DDS Rem in it. ( I bought the Cherry Milk outfit before Rem was announced).
cfx Posted December 3, 2019 Thanks. I see those Cherry Milk outfits for Miku and Idolmaster on Mandarake and some of them are styles I like but I've always wondered how well they were made and if I'd find them worth it given the high prices they go for there, usually 25000 yen and up. I see now that while they look nice enough, I wouldn't find them worth that. I complain a lot about the fit of Volks outfits, and I know some, but not all, of the issues is because of things being compatible with SDs as well. Volks' Rem outfit fits the DD body really well I see, because one of my main complaints is how outfits (don't) fit the busts and the corsets tend to be loose compared to how real ones would be, but this one looks to fit really well. Some combination of Rin's wig and how that Cherry Milk headgear is made, she looks a bit like the Statue of Liberty in that first pic.
Galvatim Posted December 3, 2019 @cfx I paid about $150 for the Cherry Milk Rem outfit, and maybe $200 for the FGO Atlas Academy one... The FGO one seems better overall, although I've only put that one on a DDII body. I wouldn't buy any of those Miku ones that go for 30,000 yen, or that Saber kimono for upwards of 50,000 yen. I'd be happy to get Kaleido Ruby or a hypothetical Ishtar outfit for Rin Tohsaka for under $200. I'd be happier to get Volks versions of those outfits, though. Rem's top is fitted very well to her shapely L bust. Volks has been decent about making default outfits quite fitted lately.
cfx Posted December 3, 2019 I don't think I'll ever pay over 20,000 yen for any outfit; that's just too much to me. Over the past few days Mandarake got some Tc DoLL licensed outfits that I liked, but again too expensive: https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1125079435&categoryCode=020114&lang=en 1 hour ago, Galvatim said: Rem's top is fitted very well to her shapely L bust. Sheryl's bustier fits well too, but Takane's top is a real mess that looks so bad to me I'll never use it.
