New semi-real girl Dauntless (with a sneaky Batgirl cameo in the last pic!).

 

(I might try getting Fortuitous someday, just because it seems fun and I think I'd be pretty happy with most of the cinnamon girls - and maybe by the time I have the money set aside they'll have more options. 😄)

(And yeah, I understand he probably feels annoyed he "has" to do these big disclaimers now, but he also can't seem to tell the difference between a personal attack, artistic criticism, and legit concerns about normal manufacturing errors...)

(Nostalgia's giving me film-noir vibes. Feels like she should be wearing a slinky black evening gown and a fascinator and smoking a cigarette while slinking into a detective's office.)

Unnamed girl is absolutely baby. Is that a tea Mirai or a different faceup altogether?

General news: all packages are going through DHL for now, with the company currently covering the extra cost.

It seems that DHL is like the only shipper out there doing well and keeping ship times short.  They must be loving this whole thing.

Lots of details for upcoming dolls on the store. Priority of release will be decided by how many people sign up for e-mail notifications on a sculpt. He also wants suggestions on fixing the navigation menu on the site.

(People who already think Fortuitous is a bad idea aren't going to like the "early access" comment. Although maybe he's planning to send out a bunch of new girls in the next order? IDK.)

Shipping will be paused for Golden Week, and new face paint prototypes.

Are the first two pre-existing girls? The second one looks like Justice. The tea girl is my favorite! 

I don't know about y'all, but I've been pretty smitten with Freedom ever since I saw her faceup. The lighter parts in her eyelashes and her blush is just too much. 💖 Danny's team is doing great work!

New version headsculpt of semi-real with less anime nose.

(not sure how I feel about this one...I think a different faceup and eyes might be able to sell me on her. She does remind me of Marinette from Miraculous Ladybug, though.) 

(Danny: I'm not gonna bother worrying about what other people think!

(Also, I think it's the eyes that are throwing me off here. She needs more realistic/less anime eyes.)

I agree, the more towards realistic that the face gets, the more the cross eyed thing bothers me. I don't really like it in the first place, and I un-crossed my Smart Doll girl's eyes when I got her, but it's even weirder with this Disney-esque face.

Disney-esque face. That's exactly what it is. You could pretty easily make her into Belle or Ariel. So she is another must-have. There's too many of them already...!

I was thinking Anna or Rapunzel, myself. Just would really like to see her with different faceups and eyes first.

I like the hair, and I don't mean any disrespect to the designer, but that girl gives me extreme uncanny valley vibes. Maybe it's just how the photo was shot though. I know someone will get her and take stunning pictures.

She looks adorable. I don't like the eyes that she has but besides that, I think this sculpt has a lot of potential. I'm VERY curious to see what other faceups that she'll get.

Danny's tagged this "anime/manga" but people in the comments are guessing superhero or Star Wars, so i'm just throwing this in the general thread until we find out what is it.

3D print data for busts now available for free! You can modify and sell them as you please, and it sound like he's going to be putting up more in the future.

(If anyone wanted to make a trans SmD character, or some ridiculous Angel Philia-esq bazongas, there you go.)

Also, if he decides to list old, discontinued heads, in the future, my life will be complete.

I'm very interested in the shoe last files if those do get released, as one of my hobbies is working with leather. I have already remade one pair of doll shoes in leather so that they would last longer, so it would be wonderful to be able to make my own shoes without having to risk the feet of my dolls.

Wow, I'd print an XS bust but unfortunately the neck would lack flexibility. If there were head files though...probably never happening.

Edit: I probably should have mentioned for those who don't have access to 3D printers, there are services out there that can do that for you. It's probably not ideal to use a filament-type printer and go for resin because they leave lines that need to be smoothed out. However, there are methods of smoothing it out (i.e. sanding, epoxy putty) and the printers themselves are much more affordable. Or you could even print with wood if you're interested in that (not sure about the pricing for that).

Of course printing services are probably not available atm so...future reference?

I wish I had a 3d printer now...mostly to have a base to build up and have a dress form....

New sculpt girl (what are we calling this style? semi-nose?) has a name now - Monday. And "Tomorrow" is apparently another new doll (maybe the same sculpt?).

(I would say something about the name reasoning here but goche.crafts comment sums it up - not everyone can change situations easily and negative feelings are valid. You can enjoy what you're doing and still be stressed, especially nowadays.) 

Yeah, the idea that a person can just simply get a different, more enjoyable job at the drop of a hat is... a disgustingly privileged line of thinking. That, and many Smart Doll fans are children and teens — they can't go study something that "truly interests" them when they have mandatory high school classes to go through first.
