Rem looks cute in this sweater.

The necklace is very delicate.  The ring that the the clasp hooks on came off shortly after I took it out of the bag.

I think Mirwen owns that one.

This is why I wish Volks would model outfits on both resins AND DD girls.  I don't think that set looks all that great on their resin model.  But seeing it on your girls, the outfit looks amazing!  I'm sure lots of other people do the same as me and miss out on really cute sets like this because Volks doesn't show it off to its full potential of bot markets of resin and vinyl collectors.

Volks' only real source for that is the store blogs, since their store displays often do have the outfits on both. It's why I try to post those when I find outfits I think someone may care about. The main page for those is:

They also have the advantage of making the outfits look like they actually do over Volks' usual poor product photography.

I think it fit the resin well, but the style fits DD better. It works even better with elf ears.

Rei's my favorite of the Sailor Senshi.  Volks did a great job on her.  

I guess didn't do such a great job with that outfit, then, it's all from one set.  

The water fairy outfit has some loops on the skirt to pose like this.

The herbalist girl set is awesome.

Does it look different in person? I mean in the sense that are photos making the flower print stand out differently than they do if you are looking at her with your own eyes.

This is something that I wish they would do with more outfits. I mean you can always just add a thread loop, but it would nice if they added something for hand posing.

It does look good on DDP Louise there, not too short on the taller doll.

Volks' pictures on these outfits were such a turn-off. While that's a common theme, it's a little different here in that it's the first time I really noticed it being the color as shown in their pics that was the issue. Their pictures made the colors on these outfits look like a gaudy clash of color, while all the user pics make the colors a bit more subdued and darker, which makes all the difference in the overall look.

I have this set for Bri and I think it does. I never even thought about the uh...optical illusion until it was pointed out in this thread. Seeing the bit of the pink top that ties around the neck makes the pattern stand out more as just flowers on a pattern too imo.

I'm not sure how much the placement of the flowers differs between individual products.

It's a really cute outfit though and looks cute on Rem. I hope to see more cute summery casual stuff like this soon.

I’m sure it can vary a good deal.

I'll get back around to that outfit at some point.  I think my lighting washed out the pink bra.  And of course there will be more herbalist Louise.

I see now, it's more of a bustier - or some garment whose name I don't know - than a bra. I can see it's really supposed to be like outerwear and show through the gauzy top.

In a fit of madness I googled info on names of women's clothing types. My gods, there must be hundreds names and all I was looking at was modern stuff. It did help me understand why Volks names some stuff the way they do. Understanding it better than I do might actually help judge how something will fit DD better.

I would say it's more of a halter/crop top than a bustier, though both can be applicable to garments like this depending on what material it's made out of and whether or not it has built-in support, not that shapely L bust dolls need it. Don't feel bad, women's clothing is stupidly complicated. I can't even accurately judge what will fit well on me half the time, let alone any of my dolls lol

Thanks, that helps. The only other thing I was able to find was camisole, and this clearly wasn't a cami.

Volks tendency to list stuff that fits SD16 & DD, I think knowing something about how the clothing is cut may help judge fit. Like something that is A-line for SD16 will probably look like a circus tent on a DD.

This is fair, but with all the different bust sizes, it might also be hard. Like an A-line on a large shapely bust with a cute belt might be super flattering, but an ss-bust Miku might be swimming in the fabric.

Volks only ever rates SD16 outfits for DD L bust and DDdy to my knowledge, so that specific case shouldn't be a concern. Essentially, they're using the larger bust of DD and DDdy to take up the volume of the clothing that is required by the larger body of SD16 since the SD16 bust isn't as large as those DD busts.

That said, I don't know what the term "A-line" means so I am not really following the conversation here.

It appears to be a shirt or blouse that is cut in the general shape of an A. Narrower at the shoulders than at the waist, and I'm guessing it's a nice thing in summer because it seems like it would be cooler.

Oh I see. On DD, in my opinion such clothing tends to just look like an ill-fitting tent, like your pictures of the jackets from the sporty sets.

If it's a bare-midriff top and on the regular two-piece DD body, assuming it covers the torso joint, it will also tend to make the DD waist look even smaller than it already does. I'll reference one of @foo's pictures, just a link since not my picture and to not clutter up this thread:

Maybe it's just my own bias though; I suspect I wouldn't like this style on actual people though I'm not sure I've ever seen it.

I'm thinking this is probably quite airy when you walk, plus it places emphasis on the hips, which often seems to me to be a cornerstone of women's fashion.

Yeah, just my personal preference, but that look is defintely not my thing.

I don't know women's clothing, either.  I just hope the clothes I buy my DDs will look good on them.
