Eiko82 Posted December 21, 2019 (edited) I know that this is probably one of the silliest questions ever asked but yeah, can white (cotton) fabric stain a vinyl doll? I plan to sew clothes for my dolls in future and will start with white fabric. I haven't tested it yet on a vinyl piece but now, I'm wondering if it's even possible for white fabric to stain. It might depend on what color white, but I would think un-dyed fabric would not stain. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
Guest Posted December 22, 2019 White white fabric shouldn't stain because white isn't a color obtained through dyes. If it was something like a bleached shirt I could see remaining bleach messing with the doll if it's not washed out, but otherwise white cotton should be the safest thing. Keep the color of thread you use in mind though, because that can stain.

I would say that although off white fabrics may contain some dye, it would be a very weak and watered down dye. Other colors like pastels also use less dye and usually aren't an issue either. It's the super saturated colors that bleed excess dye that are a problem. And in some cases off white may just be the color of the unbleached textile. It depends on what it is. Eiko82 Posted December 23, 2019 Thanks so much for the answers, everyone. I think it's safe to assume that a white cotton fabric with white thread isn't gonna stain my girl. I made this hijab and for a second, I was paranoid it might stain her. 1 Living at my place: Rise (DD Rise Kujikawa), Chie (Smart Doll Mirai) and Aisha (Smart Doll Kurenai)
