Seeking Advice: Considering getting a DD

I currently have two smart dolls and up to this point have never been interested in any dollfie dreams. I just saw photos of Ribbon and Coron the other day and am decently smitten to where I am considering my third doll to be one of these cute girls. I know comparing smart dolls to DD is like comparing apples to oranges, but can you all humor me? To those that have both, can you tell me a little about the differences? Do DD stain easier? I've had my one girl since April 2018, so while I am not new to vinyl or 1/3 dolls I am a complete newbie to DD. I've done some searching and it looks like the model DDP is fairly new, so I'd have to wait a bit to get hands and finding clothes that fit would be a bit tricky. I haven't made up my mind yet, but just would like to know some pros and cons using a smart doll as reference. Hopefully I am posting this in the right section

The big con to DDP is lack of clothing options. It’s not that there is nothing out there, but they share clothes with MDD for the most part, and the hip / leg sizes are different, so some outfits don’t work. I think part of the issue here is Most Volks clothes are made for SD, and each doll model seems to have a specific style concept.

Thank you. I had heard/read they are softer vinyl than a smart doll, so I just was curious. I never had staining issues, but then I don't let my girls wear dark clothing. The clothing issue sounds frustrating but workable. Sometimes it is a blessing to only have a few outfits instead of deciding what to dress your doll with.

Hope this is helpful for you, because I don't own a smartdoll nor a small DD, and my experience is just based on the biggest DDs.

A friend of mine has a smartdoll; a melody I think, or Kisuna, I'm not really sure. The point is I compared it with my Alna and, although she is a DDdy (the biggest body), I'm almost sure these features apply for small dd models as well. These are the differences I noticed:

- Smartdolls have higher mobility in the torso area, but DDs have it in the legs.

- The DDs wigs are a little bit bigger.

-DDs don't have the telescopic stand, nor the lower back hole.

-DDs don't handle cortex models.

-Since both are soft vynil, the staining risk should be the same.

-For the small DD models, the lack of clothing options @BeyondTime said.
