She’s a DDH-10 in SWS. Yeah, I painted her myself and I also modded the chin a little to be less pointy.

I absolutely HATE that I forgot a pair of tweezers on my desk. 
I was fiddling around this a plastic model and I forgot UGH.

Oh well. this picture is noisy because my room's lighting sucks.

I always forget their comb and end up having to use the healing brush to remove it from the photo.

Yeah. It's tough! Like you take a picture you really like, then you realize there's a glaring flaw that you can't overlook!

I ended up putting the VOLKS News Passion Red Hime wig on Malphy today.

The way the short sides on that wig frame the face it really changes the look of the Melty sculpt.

Also did you repaint him? I think the faceup looks different but maybe it's my imagination with the wig and different eyes.

Nope, I didn't change anything about him except the wig!

Sometimes, I do edit the colors of his eyes a little because they're supposed to be "purple/red/orange" instead of "purple/red". 

I've just been severely lacking in motivation to make eyes lately.

Haha, that just shows how much the look is changed by the wig, and perhaps the eye color edit. I think the fact the wig covers the purple/blue eyebrows likely makes quite a difference.

Gotta... Get off my ass and work on painting dolls. 

I'm a little rusty, so I'm practicing on a head I've had in my hoard project pile. 

Trying to warm up so I can work on my friends' dolls.

Oh that's nice.

I like her sculpt, but I feel the Volks faceup is pretty crude and doesn't make her look good. You kept a similar style but much prettier and I think she looks great.

Also I see yours doesn't seem to be yellowed. Everytime I see an Excellen on Mandarake it seems like her head is always significantly yellowed.

I never noticed before that she has just a hint of nostrils!

@cfx Thanks! Yeah since this is an old release. The sculpt has a ton of potential though! She's not that expensive either which is nice. (For Head/Body/Wig I paid ~$280 shipped from Mandarake)

Nice picture, and I love her wig too. It seems like she's one of the quite unique sculpts, with not only the more defined nose like a few others (Rise, Alna, Matoi...) but I don't think there's another DD with lips like hers. Her smile is just a bit crooked too which is so cute.

The dangerous part of me looking at these photos is, I now want a DD Excellen Browning of my own. (Dangerous for my wallet, anyway.) 😅

I took a pic of her next to Rise. (Who unfortunately is very washed out lookin.)

The more I look at her the more i think she looks like you put Beato and Rise into a blender.

 

@growcian Good news. She's reasonably cheap on secondhand stores. I've never really seen her over 50,000 yen. However I'm almost positive that the pleather default outfit would be blown to smithereens by now.

And no. I'm totally not trying to be an enabler. Nope.

Very interesting; Rise's face looks so angular by comparison.

Excellen has that full round face with more space between her mouth and chin. Older anime was often like this and I like that style. I think that there aren't too many DDs with that aesthetic--Excellen, Mirai/Candy, Mari, Moe/Natsuki, and I think Miki Hoshii has a bit of that look (maybe part of why I find her so cute).
