Beani Posted June 21, 2020 @Selenae Fingers crossed for on time delivery then! We’ve had good luck with DHL at my work but it can have hiccups from time to time. Realised I forgot to show my failed attempt at a house for Lia. I bought one of those DIY house building kits thinking the size might work but I got part way through and realised it was way too small. Oh well, at least I know how to make paper flowers now!
Selenae Posted June 24, 2020 So, I got my Hime today! I am super happy with her. She did arrive with a very loose neck joint which means she needs a new body, but since I am planning to buy her a matte whitey body with extra hands and the height extension kit anyways, I'm perfectly okay with that. Plus her eyes are beautiful. They're clear and very reflective from every angle. Super happy about that, so I don't think I'll change those out especially because they are so tiny. No pics yet, but I will post some after I get Hime her new body and different wigs, since I'm not super fond of the bob she has currently.
Anna-neko Posted June 24, 2020 @Beani .... with her short stubby legs and lace-edged dress... Honestly, the house looks just right! A very Alice in Wonderland illustration proportions She looks very Calico Critters ^___^
Beani Posted June 26, 2020 @Selenae I'm looking forward to pics! Her eyes looked like they were probably MM Drop from the small pic you had and I believe they do some of the best eyes in this size. Could be wrong though. Shame to hear about the loose neck but as you were swapping the body out regardless that could be worse (I didn't even know there was a height extension thing, I have a lot to learn still!). @Chise Thank you! Your comment made me feel much better about the hours slaved over the house (with most of the smallest furniture being tossed orzzz). I had to look up Calico Critters but I guess the proportions are similar! It's growing on me! Weirdest thing was that I researched and saw other kits by this company that had figmas or nendos in them and the scale seemed ok. Either this one kit is just smaller or the people taking those photos were doing some magic.
Selenae Posted June 28, 2020 (edited) @Beani Welp, things got worse today. I was messing around with Hime, aaaand the neck joint completely broke. Half the joint with the tiny screw and washer is in Hime's head and the other half refuses to go in the neck again. Good thing these bodies are cheap! 😂 It just occurred to me I may not have a screwdriver with a small enough head to get the screw out when the new body arrives....Welp. 😅 Don't suppose anyone knows what size screw the Obitsu 11 body has, and what size attachment I need for the Mini Sweets head? Parabox and JunkySpot haven't been helpful sadly. Edited June 28, 2020 by Selenae
myownlittleworld Posted October 19, 2020 These are so cute! I have been looking at them on the Dollce site, I still have stuff from my Fairyland Puki Pukis that have been sitting in a bin unused for awhile.
Beani Posted December 26, 2020 (edited) @Selenae It's been forever ago now but did you get the whole neck attachment thing sorted out with Hime? Would still love to see pics of her! I wanted to swing by and share my new girl. It took me longer than expected to fall in love with another of these tiny girls. Given she was a Christmas One-off I count myself so lucky to have been able to grab her. All the one-offs were gone in 30-60 seconds I think, I had convinced myself I had no chance to nab her but here we are! Meet Astraea! She's a custom Snow Rosemary with makeup and eyes by みゅ~らぼ and clothing by Pinky Panda. I just can't get enough of my new cosmos goddess! RikunFrances Posted January 16, 2021 It's funny that someone mentioned that the dolls remind them of Calico Critters because I happened to have purchased some clothing sets for the toys and they fit the Obitsu 11 pretty well, maybe a *little* big but not too much. I also have Kelly shoes on mine, since their feet are similar. I also have to mention that everyone's doll pictures in this thread are so good 🤩 Making me think it's time to revisit my little Obitsu and give her a new face with my updated skills.
Selenae Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) @Beani Ah, sorry! I'm unfortunately in a massive mental slump and haven't touched Hime in a loooong time. I actually just picked up the box with all her stuff in it, and decided that I am going to put her body together. Hopefully I might have a pic or two by the end of the month. I do think one of these is enough for me, though. I find the size difficult to work with and the tiny accessories are pretty rough on my disabled hands. Astraea is gorgeous, though! Congrats! Beani Posted January 20, 2021 (edited) @RikunFrances So it just dawned on me that Calico Critters are actually Sylvanian Families right? I looked at the site and they happened to have the same image on the home page which is great if so cause I actually have access to the latter! It's kinda cool that the clothes fit Ob11. Do you happen to have any furniture from that line as well? @Selenae Shame to hear you were in a slump but very glad to hear that you are considering setting Hime up again. I will look forward to photos! You are right though, the scale of these dolls can really cause issues. I can never manage to get socks off without the feet coming with them for instance. Thanks for the comment on Astraea! I hope you feel better soon. @Veravey Magical is definitely the right word. Normally I would find star eyes like these creepy but it really works with this girl. Very glad to have her. Edited January 20, 2021 by Beani

They were created in Japan under the name Sylvanian Families, but the company that sold them lost the rights to the name in 1993 for the US and Canada, so they're sold as Calico Critters in those two countries now. They're the same toys, though I will admit that Japan gets a lot more releases of special figures and playsets than any other country.✌️

They have a decent selection and often restock. Also, I just want to add how fond I am of the detail that goes into their accessories like furniture and such, especially for their price point. Sooooo good!~ I'm very curious to know how to furniture looks with OB dolls as well.
RikunFrances Posted January 22, 2021 @Beani They appear to be the same to me! Also, unfortunately I don't have any furniture from them so I can't really say if the size is good for 11 cm but I'd assume that at least the props/accessories would be a good size. Beani Posted January 22, 2021 @RikunFrances @OccultBeast @Veravey Thanks for confirming guys! In the interest of science I went to Mercari and spent 1000 yen on a junk lot of furniture. The seller warned it may not all be Sylvanian Families but the key point of interest for me is the piano included and that has the name printed on it so it's at least legit! A different (nicer...) version of the piano would have been about 1650 yen on it's own after shipping (new from SF) so this seemed a good deal. Will report back once I can do some test with my girls. Beani Posted January 26, 2021 @RikunFrances @OccultBeast @Veravey Reporting in with the furniture findings! The lot was a little banged up (expected for the price) but all the major parts are Sylvanian Families so that's good. Apologies for blurry phone snaps and Lia's oversize hat making everything look even smaller. I kinda love the piano, it's clearly small but is close enough that it looks cute. Lia can't tuck her legs under and reach the keys though. Also love the little lamp which appears in scale (so Rikun's guess on props was likely correct) Untitled by Beani F, on Flickr Desk is ok but the size difference is more obvious for sure. Untitled by Beani F, on Flickr Here's the chair where you can clearly see how it's too small. Untitled by Beani F, on Flickr Finally the bed which is a total disaster. Even within the set it looks way too small. Maybe it was designed for a child SF toy? Untitled by Beani F, on Flickr I think all of them would likely work ok for some background photo props but the Piano is probably the only one I will consider actually posing my girls with for longer periods. So basically, it seems to be hit and miss on the scale even within the same product line. But if you want a perfect scale item then these won't work for you.
Veravey Posted January 26, 2021 (edited) Oh my gosh, so cute! I’ve actually noticed some weird scale differences with the Sylvanian items and I suspect it’s because their legs are short. Meaning, if they’re laying in bed it works, but a chair may seem larger because if you pose them to sit, the majority of their height comes from their abdomen anyway. That and most of our dolls have larger heads than Sylvanians. Regardless, she looks adorable at the desk and piano! P.S.: I forgot to mention Sylvanian clothing (the kids size, not baby) fits classic Nendoroids Edited January 26, 2021 by Veravey grammar

I definitely see what you mean about some of them not working quite right, and @Veravey is right, the SF/CC animals have very stumpy legs, so they're a lot shorter than you think they should be, really. That being said, I still think all of the furniture looks very cute with her! Something about the slightly oversized doll is really endearing. Almost gives me a little bit of a Borrowers/Arrietty vibe, which I love. The desk is especially cute to me!
RikunFrances Posted January 26, 2021 I never considered leg stumpiness as a factor when thinking about the furniture scale but y'all are right, they all seem a little short and that's probably why lol I do like how despite the small scale differences you made the piano and desk work out in pictures. That bed though...ahaha it makes her look so big. Thank you for testing it out for us!
Beani Posted January 30, 2021 I have to admit that I totally overlooked the fact that SF have stumpy legs. That just makes everything about these bits of furniture make so much more sense. @OccultBeast I also find the "off" scale pretty cute and I will admit that the desk is growing on me more. For the moment Lia is still at the piano with a glass of wine though ha.. @Veravey That pic just makes me crack up for some reason, but the fit on the clothes is not bad at all. Suits the chibi style for sure.
Jezrah Posted February 15, 2021 Hi guys. While browsing 11cm clothes on Etsy, I noticed that one company has an alternative 11cm body for sale for very cheap. It's advertised to use for various dolls, including as a replacement for Obitsus and also for Nendoroid Dolls. The price and location make me wary, though. Does anyone know if it's a recast or something? https://www.etsy.com/listing/883590255/ymy-body-doll-body-obitsu-nendoroid?ref=shop_home_active_4&crt=

It looks similar to others, like YOMANE and Disono bodies. I actually kind of like the look of the YMY body, so I'd be interested to see it in action, if you decide to go for it. I have purchased from BJDHouse on Etsy, though, and I think they're just a reseller of Taobao/AliExpress type items (or they have a shop across both platforms). Pretty much all of the Obitsu 11 size clothing in their shop can be found on other sites, especially AliExpress, using the same images. I didn't have any issues buying from them, though, and my order arrived pretty quick, all things considered, so I don't think they're a bad choice (hesitation about the body being a copy aside). Awesome, thanks. I didn't think that the torso looked at all familiar but I wasn't sure about the arms and legs. They're a basic shape though, so it would be easy to look similar to another body. I might try one out soonish then. The Obitsu 11cm is frequently out of stock, and I'm curious about both the supposedly more secure hands and feet, and also the cute paw add-ons. Gallye Posted February 21, 2021 Turns out that Picco Neemo clothes fit the Obitsu 11 body pretty darned well! The Picco Neemo body has longer arms and legs (and, in the case of the Picco Neemo D, bigger hands and feet) but the torsos are almost exactly the same size. So I guess my Myamii gets to wear the clothes that came with my PN boy (and some Cu-Poche socks, and... actual Obitsu sneakers, gasp).
Beani Posted March 1, 2021 @Gallye I love the fit of that on Myamii! The sleeves definitely look too big but overall the fit on the body makes them look very stylish!
