Those are such beautiful photos, scripple! Thank you for sharing them. Your lens is so impressive. You are right that this place is quite cat biased. However, I rather like my cats digital and unable to produce allergens I can detect. I am not allergic to dogs and love playing with my friends' dogs. Your dog is absolutely adorable! I love her dark round eyes and cute little nose. They stand out so nicely against her soft warm colored fluffy fur.

See, this is why I need a decent camera.

 

I'm still looking into which one and what lens to get, though.

Thanks for posting them, scripple. I absolutely adore the pics of Sakura's eyes. She is so stunning. I can't believe that you just used regular room lights for these.

what lens is that? If you use a Nikon, and get a 200mm f/4 ED, you will see how this lens lives up to it's name of legendary micro.

It's very interesting to see what you can do with different lens. I really need to learn more so that I can improve my photos. Thanks for sharing, especially the Sakura pictures

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you liked the photos and my little doggie. I hope to have some fun with the lens going forward. Finally I'll have a use for those scorpions that invade the house every summer, they should be nice macro photography subjects.

Great buy... looks like a very low F number lens you got and focusing distance is pretty close too.

Otakusan it's more the focal distance than the f number. It's only 2.8 but can focus to a few inches from the end of the lens.

Thanks again. Yes the home gets scorpions in summer. I had about 100 days in a row one year with a new scorpion each day. It was kind of odd. But that was definitely the exception, most years just a few.
