Kymera Posted July 5, 2014 I can't say I've heard of anyone using vinyl sealant for cars/boats, but it might be worth looking into. I think the thing I would be most concerned with would be the vinyl sealant reacting with the MSC, so you should definitely test that combo on a spate part before you spray the whole doll. SaberChan Posted October 25, 2014 Good day, I have a question regarding removing some stains on the dollfie's face that I got off YJA. It is a dd2 Rin dollfie and I have noticed that there are yellow dots on her face. Is it safe to do the oxy treatment on the face? Is redoing the face up effective and the only way? Appreciate any help and advice. Thanks in advance. P.S. I do have a picture but do not know if I could post it since I am new.
HardCandy13 Posted October 30, 2014 Just a little heads up I was cleaning my room and left a bunch of my girls on top of Shining Blade's box - so I can get them out of the way. I picked one of my girls and the box sticker on the box stained my DD's butt I managed to remove most of it with rubbing alcohol but its now sitting on the side with the DD rescue cream to remove whatever is left. Im optimistic because its fresh (I left her 2 days tops) and I think its a surface stain. Also a little demo of the rescue cream in action This is Shino that I got in a trade - there was no mention of a stain so I was taken back when I saw it. Never buy a doll if they have no pictures of her without her wig on :/ I wasn't devastated since I wanted her for the outfit and wig. Aisha~♥, on Flickr This is after 48 hours. I reapplied and left for another 48 hours but it doesn't seem to do much of a difference honestly - I think this is as far as it will go. Oni-Chan Posted October 30, 2014 I used Basiron AC (5%) to remove stains from Semi-White skin. how did it go? has it made any discolourations on the sws over time? I have more dollfies than my age in years *×*
ArcticWolfie Posted November 27, 2014 Is it really that bad to leave your Dollfie in her clothes all the time? I saw this thread yesterday and checked my Miku right away and didn't see any stains after several months
Anna-neko Posted November 28, 2014 Is it really that bad to leave your Dollfie in her clothes all the time? Nope! Just heavily depends on what clothes. Volks outfits like to be the number one staining monsters ... and occasionally White Skin girls might be more likely to stain than others my Arturia tends to wear teh same outfit for weeks atta time no problems. If it didn't stain in first hour, it'll be alright ^__^
baldylox Posted November 28, 2014 Is it really that bad to leave your Dollfie in her clothes all the time? I saw this thread yesterday and checked my Miku right away and didn't see any stains after several months It all depends on the kind of clothing you put on your DD. Some clothes leave no stains at all and are perfectly safe. Other types leave dark stains on girls in a matter of minutes. Make sure you check the feel of dark colored or brightly colored stuff before you put it on your girl. There's a thread here about known outfits that stain so check that too. Just be smart about putting dark stuff on your DD and you should be fine. Almost all light colored things are safe, just feel the fabric and make sure it doesn't feel oily or damp to the touch even if its dry. Otherwise you should be good to go. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
ArcticWolfie Posted November 28, 2014 Thanks Chise and baldylox! I was a bit worried! but I'm relieved now ^_^ My Miku got light colored Ginger Tea clothes and a heat treated wig (light colored) so that's probably why I didn't find any stains
ArcticWolfie Posted February 8, 2015 Ugh.... I got Volks black thigh highs for my Miku and I even washed them before putting them on... but they stained right away I tried Cleaning fuel (wasbenzine = Dutch name), Denatured alcohol, Melamine sponges (Magic eraser I believe) but didn't work.. (click for full photo) any ideas?
galatia9 Posted February 8, 2015 ArcticWolfie, there are some specific instructions on page one of this thread that should be helpful. It's hard for me to tell where the stains are in your pictures, especially that second one. In the first and third pics, they seem very faint, if I am looking in the right place. Good luck! I have a very badly stained Obitsu boy coming, it will be interesting to experiment on him! I am hoping he will become all clean again like some of the other dolls I've seen in this thread. Linda S. galatia9 True that... The stains ain't that bad compared to some I've seen. I did read the instructions on the first page, but it's quite difficult to "translate" it to the materials we got in Europe but I could try the Remove-zit or 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Cream method though, which should be available here. I will post my findings here
BeyondTime Posted February 8, 2015 I had really good luck with the Volks stain removal cream. The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be. “Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction
foo Posted February 8, 2015 If you're got the Volks SD black socks, they're hopeless. They kept staining really badly and very quickly even after many, many washings (I had the semi-gloss ones).
BeyondTime Posted February 8, 2015 Yeah I put Kos-Mos black stockings and gloves on once and used tape to protect her. She is fine but the tape had a light black sheen to it when I removed them after maybe 60 minutes of wear. I kind of concluded if I want to keep her in that outfit it would probably be the least painless to buy extra semi-white arms and legs and just accept that those will get permanently stained. I could keep using tape, but that takes so long to apply at some point extra parts will just be more economical. Where possible you could use a white layer of clothing under the dark clothing. Like the missionary senior winter uniform is brown, but comes with a white shirt and petticoat that goes between her body and the brown outer dress. I've never gotten a stain from that. I've sort of written off black dresses and clothing as a result of the staining issue. The idolmaster outfits are all lined with white except for a few accessories. I've had zero issues with those. They kept staining really badly and very quickly even after many, many washings (I had the semi-gloss ones). Yes I got those... @Wolf Thanks, I will order the volks stain removal set the first chance I get. I wrapped the legs in plastic and taped the upper part so they are stainless for the moment but it's still stupid that they stain that much like foo says, I washed them in white gas and well... the whole sink was black after that (this one right? https://www.volks.co.jp/page_ex.jsp?CONTROLID=SC0040&BUSINESSID=InitDisp&jancd=4518992403298&version=en)

sweetmouse Posted August 4, 2015 Does mailing in hot weather increase changes of random stain spots to occur? I got a new girl in the mail, but she had a lot of spots on her-- unlike all the sales photos. I don't think the seller was being dishonest, but it worries me it popped up out of no where. Some are fading into the vinyl now, and other are popping up. o_o like some disease.

What exactly do you mean by spots? Tiny dots, or blotches like a wig stain? Linda S. galatia9 Tiny dark spots, 1mm wide or smaller. Black/blue in color. Now they are getting bigger, and a bit more faded (more blue in color now). I'm assuming they are absorbing into the vinyl. The seller shipped it with the pamplet, which could of transferred ink... Maybe? Or the body had these issues and they were "fixed" , but resurfaced with heat during shipping? Technically there was a thick residue yellow/brown mark too that mysteriously appeared during shipping too. (Left a bright yellow stain)
galatia9 Posted August 6, 2015 They sound like they might be ink spots. I've heard that some tiny spots will dissipate and eventually fade away without assistance, or with some exposure to sunlight or lamps (as has been mentioned in this thread already). Is your new girl white? I don't have any DDs with tiny random spots, only some wig stains and minor clothing/shoe stains. shananyan9 Posted January 22, 2016 Umm since smartdoll are made of vinyl too. Is it relatively ok to use this guide for them? Not sure if anyone had any success. My doll has some dark/black plastic stains from the heat from her cloths ;(.
