Should I get a body suit for DD Megurine Luka

Recommended Posts

Aziel2000

Hey guys , I m new to dollfie dream. I was wondering, if I need to get a body suit for luka. Does the original outfit stain ? I heard darker colors stain the surface of vinyl dolls.

Should I get any other items for my doll ? What are the things I should know as a first time owner ?

Also are there any guides for first time collector?

Pretty sure stains have been mentioned before with Luka’s outfit. A bodysuit is a good thing to have imo.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I would. Her feet are already showing stains and she's never worn anything but her default outfit. I think her boots are a little too tight.

Things I would recommend having - in order:

A stand.

White cotton gloves for handling her. You can get these cheap on amazon in 4 packs.

A steel toothed pet comb.

Clothing. They sulk if you don't give them clothes regularly. She can wear outfits in SD13 & SDGr size in addition to stuff that lists DD as a fit. She can wear some clothing for Smartdolls too.

Underwear other than the black pair she comes with. You will want her to have underwear for outfits with short skirts, and the black ones will stain her. Be aware that underwear with SD16 listed in it's size will look really big on her, more like a diaper than panties.

Wigs in 8" - 9" size.

Toys for her to play with. Volks sometimes sell musical instruments, guns, swords, cooking stuff, etc. You can pose her with this stuff and take pictures. You can find interesting stuff in 1/3 scale on Etsy too.

You can change her eyes too, but the originals are hot glued in. Removing them isn't too hard as long as you know the trick to it, but I would get more familiar with her first.

--

Stains will happen, so don't freak out too much. Just get Dream Rescue or Twin Pines Remove-zit and treat them. The one thing you really need to protect from stains is her face. The stuff that removes stains will also remove the face-up.

My other suggestion would be to play with her a lot. Doing that will teach you how to pose her, and you can see how versatile she is. Dollfie are pretty durable, just don't force anything and she'll be fine.

You are the best. I didn’t know about the clothing, interesting I will definitely try some SD13 & SDGr outfits.
Btw I have heard a lot about yellowing is it something you can prevent? Is it similar to staining? Can I use a coating to prevent the surface of the doll.?

Yellowing is what happens when the vinyl reacts to sunlight over extended periods of time. Its much more common with resin dolls, but vinyl can do it, too. The best way to avoid it is to keep her stored out of sunlight. Possibly avoid glass cases (though I've only heard of that being a problem once, so hopefully someone with experience can chime in)

Thanks , is yellowing permanent or can be removed by treating or repainting?

A lot of doll clothing makers list sizes for resins and not DD, so SD13 & SDGr girls are your closest match in the world of Volks resins. Most of what Volks makes for SD13 & SDGr girls lists compatibility with DD, but it's not perfect because resins have wider waists.

Still, most of the clothing Volks makes is for resins, and not specifically for DD.

Their Tenshi no Koromo clothing line is specific to DD. Tenshi no Koromo releases are a mix of costumes and normal clothing, so I find that if you want a good selection of ordinary clothing you have to look at the resin clothing lines.

Sorry, even if it’s clear as mud now, it will make more sense over time.

I hear about treatments for yellowing on vinyl but I have not seen any first hand accounts saying that they actually work. So, I'll leave that for you to interpret. I run on the assumption that there isn't and just try to keep my dolls displayed on the shady side of the room. It's worked well for me so far.

Hi !! I'm new to this too ^^ welcome
I in my dollfie dream I have put the flesh-colored body of cloth that they sell in volks ^^

since I am a little maniacal of the spots and I like that my wrists are in perfect condition

then do not put them in the sun or give them a lot of time the sun as they turn yellow.

put a silicone cap on the head so that the wig (if it is dark) does not fade (there are some that do)

and if it can be, always have the doll in a showcase ^^
