Hello from a long time doll collector!

Hello~

I started collecting antique bisque and china dolls in the early 2000's. I followed BJD news but I didn't get into that until around 2010. From then on i've been almost almost exclusively a resin collector. ButI found myself getting bored with the "how realistic can we make this doll look"? trend that's ever growing in the BJD world, so Ive slowly been gravitating to Pure Neemo's and cartoony resin sculpts over the past couple of years. I really love the amount of freedom you have in painting a face with hardly any sculpted features! As of right now I have a DollceDoll Myau on an Azone 47 body, and I am waiting on blank DDH 03, 06, and 09 heads to arrive. 😃 Its my hope to try and paint one each as 70's, 80's, and 90's anime style.

I know almost nothing about vinyl BJD care and construction, so I am looking forward to reading through everything here!🙇‍♀️ (I think I will need to read a lot before I can figure out what bodies to buy, haha)

Welcome!!  I'd love to see pictures of your entire collection sometime, and I'm super excited to see your DD heads in various styles of anime!!  You are definitely in good company here, as we have many others who also collect Azone and other various anime dolls (myself included)!

Welcome! I've only ever had vinyl bjds, so I cannot give you a comparison. Plenty of information here though.

@Riesz, Thank you! Im super excited to work on them. But I work in healthcare so instead of being in isolation I have to work tons of overtime all of a sudden😅 I hope this blows over by summer so I can still do faceups.

I feel you with the overtime and not accomplishing things. I also work within the healthcare industry, but I am in customer service and work from home, so I'm doing all my heavy overtime in isolation. Fortunately I'm generally a loner so I'm ok with it, and it's good for the paycheck. Hope you stay safe out on the front lines!
