Yearly Goals

This is just for fun, I thought it would be interesting to everyone's dolly plans. 

You can write down a list for what you want to do for dolls this year and the next, and look back on what you have completed from your list. 😄

 

- My goal for this year is to get faceup supplies.

- To finally do something with my DDH07 head. ^^;

 

- To get my poor DDH-06 girl a pair of working, matching wrists, finally. I cannot believe how much trouble this has been!

- To investigate the possibility of getting a DDDy girl, which mostly comes down to picking a headsculpt.

- To have a real go at fixing my DDDy Miko's loose hip

- To start the photostory I've been thinking about for over a year!

- To finish the Firekeeper doll project i have been working on (almost complete).

- To get some outfits and bodystockings I still need.

I hope everything goes well because phew, these hobby requires some money indeed and my wallet needs a little rest. 

 

I'm feeling pretty content with my collection at the moment... kinda went nuts last year buying outfits, shoes, and wigs.

I'll more than likely end up buying more outfits though, I just can't seem to resist those cute tiny clothes *sigh*  I'm officially out of cabinet space for dolls so trying to limit myself to just accessories and clothing.

- I finally have a space that can be a dedicated photo area, so I need to get that set up. I will need some studio lights. Then, I seriously need to update pictures for my collection,  I am way behind now.

- Work on (hopefully finish) my project dolls. I think I have 4 or 5 WIPs that I procrastinated on, and then got busy. Bad me, bad! No more projects until I finish what I already have.

Funny, just a few days ago I was thinking about how we used to have a yearly thread like this but haven't had one in a while...

I've almost completed getting the dolls I wanted, so hopefully one I'm still missing shows back up at Mandarake.

I need stands for everyone, or a couch, or something. I mostly have the outfits I want/need, but not quite there yet.

My main thing though is to get a display cabinet so the girls don't have to live in their boxes as they currently do. I have too much of a dust problem to just have them in the open.

Sell all the stuff I bought that didn't work out for me, so I can buy more stuff.

I really want to learn to sew some clothes for my girls and get better at doing faceups!

I want to get some more furniture/props/clothes/eyes.

I'm still on the hunt for Ram, but I'm happy to wait her out until she becomes a little less rare.

And I want to get better at doll photography!

I've been working on a doll for a character that's very near and dear to me. Her head has already been sent off and I'm hoping to have her "completed" by the end of the year.

Another thing would be maybe commissioning someone for her outfit but that might be something I'll put off till next year. Although I'm pretty bad at keeping myself in check and making other purchases that ruin my chances of finishing up something I've started. lol

Fingers crossed for everyone to get their lists done by the end of the year. ❤️

I heard people usually sell their dolls because the need of money. In those cases I totally agree as long It's a real emergency situation. If not, I share your opinion. Not only because you won't get the same amount you spent, but all the time and care you invested, will never return. Seen in that way, sounds sad at least for me. 

And to post something related to the topic, now i remember i also need a display cabinet too. I'd like one detailed, made of wood. That's expensive though :s.

Most of my spending plans this year are for resin dollies so...probably just sewing more clothes? And making my girl an Anna cosplay by September so I can run around with her at Dragoncon while I cosplay Elsa.

Next year we are (possibly) going to Japan, and I plan on going to Doll Point and doing Dream Choice, visiting the Smart Doll store, and going to Mandrake and a bunch of other doll stores.

(That being said, I miiiiiight end up grabbing some of the AP b-type parts off FaithZ and a cheap VMF50/Obitsu50 body between now and then if the opportunity arises, but I'm trying very hard to focus on filling out my planned characters atm.)

Clean/declutter/de-hoard my spare room so I can set up a proper doll and collectibles room, and have space to display everything and to room to store all my dolls' clothing/accessories.

Sell any clothing/accessories I no longer use (this also applies to my fashion dolls and resin dolls).

 

 

i'd really like to collect more dolls in general since i'm new to the hobby! i guess that will be my main goal, haha. 

but in addition to that, i really want to clear out a specific space for my dolls! they're in a safe enough spot right now but are kind of just on a dresser with some other things so they aren't really being done justice display wise... ^^ ;; when i'm less busy with college courses i'm going to make that my first project. 

I just want new wigs and clothes for my girl, Maddigan. It's been a year since she arrived and she's still currently borrowing stuff from my resin residents here at home. ^^;

I bought 2 dolls this year. So that’s pretty much it for me ;-; 

I m planning to get more doll supplies. Probably a lot of outfits. 
 

If possible I ll try to get an Ranko Kanzaki 2nd version 

Hmm this year I definitely want to work on a few things:

-Kohaku needs either faceup additions or a new faceup

-Hanako needs a faceup, period

-???

-profit

Alita, Battle Angel! From the movie, in the first artistic body she appears in. I don't know how long it'll take; probably years. I may have to leave this project in my will for my (adult) son to finish; he's a Gundam guy, he knows how to build and paint. 🤣

Aside from that there's not much else that could be considered major I have planned currently? Mostly just little things that would be nice (i.e. switching out default eyes, extra outfits, etc.) Granted, I could be wrong and completely fool myself by having something appear but for me most larger plans will probably wait til next year seeing as I preordered Mashu and acquired a grail. 

Organize doll collection, still have stuff all over the place from moving.

Buy more bodies for floating heads.

I accomplished most of my "goals" for the year, doll-wise, since I don't really have many... hmm... I suppose I could say:

• Buy doll stands for MSD/MDD-height (2) and DDP-height (1)
• Organize doll storage
• Organize/plan doll display

So far my list is looking like:

• Save up for a Mochi Ashi body for Arle
• Find a definite wig and style for Arle
• Make a Nanako (P4) MDD (already have a wig that would work, clothes and eyes should be easy to commission)
• Get some shoes for Ries and trim the fur on his tail
• Get Rika together (everything is on the way right now!)
• Keep some money aside for DWC1 and the heads releasing alongside(?) the Mochi Ashi body
• Clear space so all my MDDs can stand side by side and I can see everyone at once
• Take mod and faceup commissions!

- Get my first Dollfie dream

- Get face-up suplies

- Get some vinyl heads and customize them

- Get a dollstand

- Get a doll bag

Well I graduated from college this year, and I secured a full time job! So, my plans are:

-To save up for a Unity (Cocoa Smartdoll) and finish her character

-Re-vamp the look of my Etsy store (I knit doll clothes!)

-Get 500 followers on my dollie instagram 

-Start posting more doll videos on my YouTube Channel

Thank you so much! I'm sure you can imagine that job hunting was extremely stressful during the pandemic. I'm glad I'm able to work and hopefully funnel more money towards this expensive great hobby. 😂
