Display case for Dollfie

Recommended Posts

Aziel2000

Hey !

I recently got DD Luka and I’m getting DD Emilia next month.

I was planing to get a good display case and am wondering what are the available options.

I m currently in college and I don’t want to add/buy unnecessary furniture to my apartment. I was thing about cases that might be stackable like the ones available for shoes. Was wondering if they are available for figures too.

So far I haven’t been able to find a case that can fit a doll online .

Any help would be appreciated:)

Are you looking for a box for storage, to keep a doll safe and not seen? Or are you looking for a display cabinet to keep dust off, safe, and to display?

If the latter, I recommend the Ikea Detolf. Glass cabinet that is inexpensive,($60), easy to put together and if needed you could take it apart again.

As @KatMage said, the detolf is an excellent display case for the price - I have two and have had them for years now. Just be sure to save the packaging for when you have to move again - the walls are six-foot glass sheets, which are somewhat difficult to transport safely.

Note that the default distance between shelves (15 inches) in a detolf is not enough room for a standing dollfie. For this reason, and the fact that Detolfs are naturally rather wobbly (very little is actually anchored down; makes it easy to put together but not the most stable cabinet), I would recommend you display your dolls sitting. Alternatively you could just not put in all of the shelves.

The detolf is great. If you just put in the middle shelf, theres enough room for 4 standing dollfies.

I have two Detolfs that hold my action figures, I don't use it for dolls. However, you totally could by only installing one shelf or put the dolls in a sitting position. Get you a couple of nice stands and they'd look real good inside.

A user named queenofsquids on tumblr uses them for her dolls. This is her set up of four detolf cabinets. The two large dolls on the bottom left and right are DD size

I thought so too. 15 inch is a bit small. I would have to remove to shelves to display em standing.

I was researching about detolfs. Found out the welds aren’t that strong and the glass is kinda weak. I might replace the shelves with acrylic sheets and get some support for the metal rod just in case it falls

You mean 2 per shelve right?

That looks cool !
Using a different bottom would definitely solve the support issue. The only concern is the glass breaking. Guess I ll just get acrylic inserts.

Yes 2 per shelf, 4 might actually break the glass from the weight!

am a month late, but seconding the Ikea cabinet recommend!

Here you can see my girl (and her chair) take up the space inside one, with one of the shelves removed. If there are 2 girls but no heavy furniture, the shelf can take the weight just fine

That is a great display, and the dress is perfect for her.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

Thanx!!

My Detolf unit is crammed with stuff on the other shelves, but maybe because it isn't on carpet but on hardwood floor - it is a solid stable unit!

Also the way other things in there are set-up, you can totally hang "backgrounds" posters, or hang small charms/keychains from the side rods on which the shelf rests. It's like building a tiny set so your girl will be less lonely in there =P

Another demonstration of maybe it's shelf weight capacity
