I'm definitely going to try to get Sailor Jupiter. I almost got Sailor Mars, but Jupiter is my favorite, so I'm glad I waited!

Hopefully Volks Japan's site doesn't go down during the event, but if you are in North America Volks USA will almost certainly be offering her as well. I think in the past if Volks Japan does a doll pre-order then Volks USA does that doll as a pre-order, but this event is a bit unusual due to the Dolpa cancellation so that's probably not a certainty.

Yes, I'm in the US, and I assume that they will get her here, too. I'm going to try to get her (and the school outfit) through the Volks Japan site, but if there are issues, I'll just wait until Volks USA is up and running again. 

I took a break from the DD/DDS/DDP/DDM community and so much has happened, I can’t wait for her though. I’m definitely gonna order her. I bought some figures so I’m broke, but I am willing to sell DDS Ram for her. I’ve been waiting for her for so long. I totally missed out on Moon and I couldn’t afford Mars or Mercury. But now is my time to shine, I am hoping they will also release Venus soon. But I can’t wait! She looks absolutely stunning! 

I also think she looks gorgeous. When I saw the page and looked at her, first thing I thought was: oh no I'm in love 😂 So I hope the website will keep up! After a few MDD in a row she will be the first DD here (I pre-ordered Mash but I think she will arrive way later).

Also 3 weeks online Dollpa starting june 6th with a new cutie and my birthday on june 13th, this feels like a nice birthday present haha! 😂

Im so excited for Jupiter! i have a question though does any one know if the japanese website will be shipping internationally? (sorry im new to the hobby so my two dolls have been after market.) from what i gathered there are 2 volks websites (usa and japan/international??) and past dolls have been released in different ways. i just confused because i signed up for member ship on the  japan/international?? website because that is where they are advertising Sailor Jupiter but i am unsure whether there will be shipping out side of japan. Do international buyers have to use a proxy service?

Volks USA website ships around the US

Volks Intl ships to anywhere, USA included. Altho with current pandemic I am not sure on how long their shipments take.... but no, you will not need a proxy service

Volks Int is currently using DHL to ship, so as long as you don't have a dislike for or problem with that company you can order from them just fine. My recent order only took about a week and a half to be processed, shipped, and received. Other countries' times may vary.

I bought from volks the 5 of may, they send me the paket the 11 whit DHL, the 14 arrived whith 25€ from taxes and 20€ for DHL gestions that i send them a e mail for make the taxes myself and they ignored me totally for that reason i hate them i dont wanna buy nothing more until EMS its working again 😕

😡 That is exactly why I dislike DHL so much! They charge that 20€ no matter what you do - let them take care of the customs or do it yourself!

Hello, yes there are multiple other options. Something most DD collectors forget is the friends shops. If you are early with a click war or a lottery you are most likely to get it. I have bought all my girls from Sakura dreams. Which I highly suggest for people living close to the UK. They are very friendly and respond quickly. They can also help to find a doll that is already sold out, like saber Nero. Although it can take a little bit longer and sometimes they can’t find the doll. But I hope this helped. Like I said I highly suggest buying dolls from Friends shops. They are official shops that just aren’t from Volks themselves. But they are real, if you check out the website you can probably find a tag for it. If you scroll down I’m the website by store information you can find one closest to you. I hope this helped! Im sorry you guys have had such bad experiences with DHL! i have never really had bad experience with them so i will probably risk it but i agree they can be a bit pricey.

 

 

I'm wondering whether or not we can pay with paypal for the limited dolls or if we'd need a credit card? Not aiming for a DD but Williams is so tempting.

PayPal is usually an option, but for some reason during the last event it wasn’t.

Mmmmh...was that during the time when they had not allowed paypal for all orders? Or was that before? 

I'm mainly wondering if they'll handle it like the past preorder-projects (recent ones were cc-only)  since all people who will order the dolls in the short order period will get one for sure. I'm expecting loooooooots of orders, so I'm sure they'll be shipped in several batches.  

(Is there any credit card recommended, btw? xD I'm from Germany. Not sure if there are any which Volks doesn't accept. Looks like I should get one asap to be on the safe side)

This was the February event iirc. Some people who logged in got the Paypal option, and some didn't. It seemed to be more of a glitch in their system. Possibly it was brought on by site overload.

Although, based on the store pages it looks like the payment all the event dolls is credit card or union pay only. I'm not sure what UnionPay is, but they state that Paypal won't be allowed.

I'm not too worried about them having enough Jupiters. I think they ended up with extra Mars and Mercury dolls after their original sale events. Volks USA was selling Mercury all through their last winter event, and I'm not sure she ever sold out. It's a shame too because she is really cute.

I would expect their site will be inaccessible for the first few hours of the event, but I kind of doubt she will sell out on day 1.

The SD boys will be a different story.

From things that have been posted here, I suspect they require cards that support "3D Secure" which apparently isn't common on cards in the US, but I believe is on most cards in Europe. The card I use on Volks is a MasterCard from Barclays, but I don't know if those exist in Germany as Barclays is based in the UK. A Capital One card I had previously did not work at Volks.

If you ever wanted to order anything from Mandarake, for certain they require 3D Secure.

I'm not sure how it is with cards in other countries, but in the US you can get certain cards that do not charge a fee or percentage on foreign transactions, which will save you a bit. I chose the particular card I use because of that feature.

[3D Secure by brand is known as MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa. There is also a version on American Express outside the US but I don't know what it is called.]

My regular card wasn't accepted last time with the Mash pre order because like my bank is the only one here without that 3D secure 😑 So I hope paypal is an option or I have to use a different card again like with Mash. Paypal would be an easier option for me.

For now just a few weeks to go whoo! 😃

What’s on the website seems to indicate that PayPal won’t be an option, so I would plan around using the other card. 

as an anime only, I kinda wish the girls looked less like the original art style. They just look so unlike what I remember. Also, Jupiter's ponytail balls are massive lmao. Still, she's cute and hopefully one of the next girls they make will pique my interest.

We had that discussion when Usagi was released. Her eyes look wrong to me because of their size, but when I got her I did say to myself that looks like Usagi to me.

As it happens, I loved Naoko's art style from images I saw on the internet back when the show was still in first run, and had the art books long before I saw the anime. I still think her artistry is some of the best there is in anime.

I tend to think when they make the dolls they have to make some compromises in order to get the face to look the way it needs to. I don't think it's even really the same as making a PVC figure with stickers for eyes because the head on those can be completely solid. A DD head has to be structurally sound, have all the features of a DD head, and realize in 3D what was originally drawn in 2D.

I think Mars is pretty much spot on. She's the most perfect of the three so far, but Mako is looking pretty good too. I really hope Minako is perfect.

My ranking for Senshi is Ami > Minako > Rei > Haruka > Michiru > Setsuna > Hotaru > Makoto > Usagi.

Chibi Usa I would launch into orbit. >:D

Oh, yeah, looking at Mars now, she definitely seems the most "accurate." Maybe I'll look up some owner photos and see how they look there. I know Volks photos never really give a complete image of a doll. I really like Naoko's drawings of clothing and outfits, but the faces always looked weird to me. I think it's just a matter of seeing one before the other and preferring familiarity. Anyways, I do agree with you in wanting to see how Minako turns out. She has the cutest style of all the senshi, though if I had to pick a favorite it'd be Sailor Saturn. Also, I remain quietly hoping Volks will release Princess Serenity's dress...

I really hope they make the Outers. I know it's a long shot, but I want them to make all of them.

Of course I want them to make Chibi-Usa too for all of her fans. I just found her character really annoying.

Although I listed Ami first and I like her best, there really isn't all that much difference from top to bottom. All nine of them were great characters.
