Where do you display/keep your dollfies?

I may get one. I'v seen them online for a good price. Also l love the my life accessories. My Anifee vanilla and MDD girl well like this.

There is no denying that it’s worth it. I’m just building a museum with humidity controlled cases in my basement. It’s looking good. Renovations are thousands. So. If this is a hobby you put thousands into, you may as well do the same to keep them safe and viewable. 
 

btw thank you for telling us about where to buy it. I’m getting one now for my MDDs/Minifees/Anifees. Hahaha. Thank you Billy, once again.

Oddly enough, I never really think about the girls in monetary amounts.  Yes, they do cost money and sometimes it's a lot and I do keep track of what I spend on them and when and with who. But it's never something that has an effect on what I do with them or how I display and play with them.  I like being able to scoop any of them up at any moment and just mess with them.... like taking pics or changing their clothes.  Putting them in cases isn't my style so the doll house made sense for me and my little ones.

That's not to say that nice case don't make for an amazing display that not only makes them look good but protects them too.  Displays are actually important to me because at heart I've always been a collector.  I used to collect vintage Star Wars toys and displays were a nice way to show things off or accentuate certain parts of the collection.  I also moved things around a lot to keep things fresh.

Your museum idea sounds amazing!  I'd love to see photos of the progress.  I find cool displays to be as fun and exciting as the collections they house. 

You're welcome on where to find the doll house!  I'm all about sharing ideas and where I get stuff because if it makes someone else happy then I've done my part in the hobby that's given me so much.

Oh that set is so cute!  A mini Miku sounds adorable too.  I look forward to seeing her once she's done.

Honestly my display area for my dolls is not optimal, I'd like to get a couple of detolfs in the future to help protect them from dust. Every week I usually dust them off but sometimes. I forget to and with my feather babies it gets dusty pretty fast, the only one that's safe is Daisy since she's in her lantern. For now I have them sitting atop a shelf to the right of my computer so they're always in view. I'm definitely going to need more space when my four floating heads get their own bodies. 😥

Wow really enjoy seeing everyone's dollies and displays/set-ups. I have two detolfs that are currently holding other smaller toys and 1/6 dolls, I might have to repurpose one (or maybe get another detolf or two). I'd love to be able to create a DD (and BJD) sized room box one day. I'd like them to come out of their boxes more often!

So I mentioned when I posted my display that I needed an upgrade, I got it all set up finally and the girls have some breathing room (and room for family expansion lol). Same basic set up as before with more room, probably gonna add some small white lights at some point.

@Chingu93 I really like the detolf, even though it's such a pain to put together. But it's really sturdy and I like how simple it is. 

On etsy they even have detolf extenders which you can use to raise or lower the glass, the top shelf of mine has one of those.

I honestly keep mine naked in their boxes and in a wardrobe, my shelves arent covered and I fear my cat knocking them off the shelf 😅 

I only own bjds atm but verry soon i will buy my first vinyl! 

I store my dolls on my desk so i can look at them and grab them whenever i want. However i havent opend my curtains since 2016/2017 in fear of them yellowing lol

I see this a lot and I totally understand. I collect vintage toys which tend to cost me a lot and some of my favourite colours get gross in the sun very quickly. 

A year and a half ago, I purchased and applied a UV coating to my windows in my display room. Vintage toy plastic can discolour in as little as 6 weeks but I don't have anything up on the windows covering them at all anymore since the coating is also frosted. I haven't had any discoloration since.

I wanted light to still enter so these are frosted white, allow light, provide privacy, and protection. Since installing I haven't had any toys discolour at all so I know most of the UV rays are being blocked. They're a little tedious to apply but they were reasonably priced and I purchased them from Amazon. Just a thought for resin owners 😅

Right now mine have to go back in their boxes once I've finished handling them. But we'll be moving very soon and then they'll have special spaces set up in display cabinets for when they're not hanging out with me.

I’ve got two Billy bookcases with glass doors from IKEA for all my BJDs. My minis get one, the 1/3 girls get the other. The 1/3 cabinet is currently housing my boyfriend’s DDs on the lower shelf, but they will likely get kicked out as Volks releases more Sailor Moon dolls 😆

This whole room is lovely, great job! Worth the time and money you put in for sure. Love the shelves you used for the dolls 

I personally keep mine in the closet on top of a 6-cube shelving unit from Wal-Mart. It's been large enough to hold everyone and have more than enough room for expansion (And thank goodness for that) and so far it's been rather lovely as it also doubles for storage space in the lower squares. Eventually I might try to set up some "walls" so my clothes don't keep hitting the ledge (*None of the dolls are near said ledge so nobody is getting stained!) and make it look a little more... on purpose? 

I am working on this diorama for my girls. I need to move it down more.

 

For those of you who have a detolf, can you adjust it to make a space tall enough for the girls to stand up? I'd like to get one, but I was worried about that. Thanks!

My girls are on Billy bookcases in my bedroom. I'd love to have them downstairs but with 2 kids it's a lot safer in my room 😂 eventually I'd like to get either some more Billy bookcases with glass doors or some of the glass cabinets downstairs but we're completely remodelling our house at the moment so won't be for a while!

You can't adjust the shelves exactly but if you remove one they can stand with a little extra space. If you remove the first and third shelves you get two tiers for them to fit standing. I took out the middle shelf to have two smaller shelves for other collectibles and the dolls are standing in the middle. I hope that makes sense 😅

I'm glad I'm not the only one who displays their dolls on shelves (╹ڡ╹ ) I love the enclosed bookcases everyone has shown too, I need to eventually migrate to one of those so dust doesn't settle on them when I'm not playing with them...

I seriously LOVE this idea! If I had more than 2 DDs I would do this too! But since I only have the two SD sized DD and then I have a resin MSD I just kind of leave them on my dresser to hang out. My minifee is lucky because she has a huge beach life guard tower chair to sit in, but my DDs just sit either on my dresser countertop or on a sofa on top of my book shelf. However, they tend to collect dust WAY too much on top of the book shelf, so since I cleaned them all up recently and repaired my dynamite, they will be permanently on the dresser shelf so I can keep them clean and dust free more easily! 

I love everyone's display ideas! The girls are so cute on your ladder style bookcase evilbluepoptart!

My apartment is a little bit small for a real display shelf Hopefully I manipulate them enough so that they don't catch the dust! My Azone girl is small enough to chill on my desk with my Touhou figure (second half coming soon from Mandarake!!!)
