Volks Dollfie Dream Sewing Book

Volks Japan has just put up a listing for a DD sewing pattern book, to be available 05/30:

Oh nice! I saw a teaser for this on the Dollybird twitter but didn't bother translating since I just assumed it would be the next issue, not a whole new book for DD stuff! Looks like it's not a Volks exclusive, you can also pre-order on Hobby Search and HobbyLink.

Oh, I hope that the multiple locations selling it means it won't be hard to get a hold of. I'm not ready to make another Volks Int order right now, but I am very interested in this book.

I didn't realize it isn't a Volks book; I see now if you view the page in Japanese there it lists the publisher as Hobby Japan while that info is missing from the English store page.

That explains why the styles don't look like Volks clothing.

I wish I could learn to sew but my eyesight is too poor.

I'd totally fallen off the wagon with learning to sew but maybe this book will help me get kick started again. I have some Dollybirds with DD patterns included but they were a little advanced for me. These look more my level. Just got my preorder in at Amazon for free shipping, thanks for posting about it!

It reminded me the DD maid patterns’ book, so advanced xD

Another buy for me!

(Yuna also collects Volks News, DD in the cover magazines, DD pattern books and DD doujins, but left sewing hobby because can’t find her pocket sewing machine)

Its nice that the patterns fit DDY as well. I don’t have one, but I’ve seen people asking for clothes that fit them.

Maybe if this book sells well they'll do one for MDD/DDP dolls, too!

I picked up the book from Volks with my coupon and it arrived pretty quickly, so I've been testing out some patterns here and there. Thus far I've only tried DDy size since they're harder to find and I didn't have much for 2B to wear. A few hitches due to misunderstanding the instructions but overall I think the patterns work well and aren't too complicated. In particular I like the underwear pattern and hope to make a lot more! The camisole dress is cute too but I needed some ultra light weight interfacing for it to look right.

I have the book and I made the frill sleeve blouse for L size bust for my Mashiro. I did have to take in the sides because it was originally too wide at the waist, but I'm not sure if that's from not following the seam allowance perfectly, or due to the cut of the blouse

Do you find there's a decent variety of patterns in the book? I bought some of the nendoroid pattern books earlier this year and a couple had a great range of fits and cuts, but one was a bit lacking and kind of plain; I wish I could have seen a sample of the patterns beforehand haha

It says "Dollfie Dream Sewing Book.  The Basics of Girly Style.  Spring and Summer Collection."

I wonder if there's a "Fall and Winter" collection.

If anyone's interested, I think there's quite a few of these listed on Buyee. I wasn't particularly interested as I'm not into sewing, although I have a few other Volks books.
