Old Newbie?

Hi there!

I might have posted an intro thread a million years ago, but now I can't remember. Oops!

Anyway, I'm Meep! I was really into resin BJDs as a teenager (I'm 30 now), and lately I've been thinking I wanted to get back into the doll hobby, but I've been seeing Dollfie Dreams and Smart Dolls on Instagram that I just love. 

I have an off topic resin doll (Dream of Doll Dream of Child Zen), but no vinyl dolls (yet?). Maybe someday!

Wild, I haven't heard anyone mention DoD in years! My first BJD was a DoB Libra! I was pretty sad to hear they closed a few years back. 😔 But it's really interesting to me how many of us who started in the resin BJD hobby have transitioned over to vinyl!

Do you have a doll you're working towards/saving for, or perhaps a vinyl Holy Grail you're hoping to one day own?

I haven't decided yet. I really like Smart Dolls, but I prefer mini-sized dolls. Maybe by the time I've saved up, there will be a Smart Doll mini? I can dream.

Never happening. That's the infamous "Pocket Doll" promised many years ago.

Oh, that's a shame about the "Pocket Doll" thing. I've been out of BJD/doll fandom for years, so I missed a lot; I liked to browse the physical shops when I lived in Tokyo, but I didn't really keep up with the news or anything. (I didn't even know there was a Smart Doll store.) 

I'm not familiar with all the 1/6 dolls, but if you're looking for that size one line I know of for anime-style dolls is Azone's Pure Neemo. I believe they aren't on-topic here because of rooted hair and painted-on eyes, but we do have a thread in the off-topic section:
