Body Alternatives

Hi,

You might of heard me talking about this earlier.

Anyway, my question is... 

... Does anyone know of any doll bodies that are similar to Dollfie Dream in shape and color?

I don't want to buy a body that's like pink and a head that's white. 

It would also be nice if you could list the price. Thanks.

Why do I need a reason?

I think the SQ Labs resin bodies are similar in color, but using them with DD is outside my own experience. I've heard about people putting DD heads on them, but you have to work with the standard elastic cord and hook when you do it. I don't recall them being any less expensive than a Volks body though.

There are also silicone bodies out there, but I'm afraid I can't point you to the makers. I have seen them used a lot with DD heads on dolltwitter, and the color match seems close. I don't think they are cheap, and they tend to be a bit more anatomically correct which can be an issue for some people.

I really think that one of your big issues here is that making a custom doll of an official character isn't inexpensive in my own experience. It's true that you can save hundreds on a head by using a Volks option head for about $50, but you end up paying as much or more for the custom outfits and wigs, both of which can run hundreds of dollars depending on what you want made. You'd have to pay someone to make you the transformation pen, hair accessory, and the earings too. Buying the bits and pieces you need from Jupiter's set would be more expensive because people will mark them up, however once you have Marketplace access you may find that there are people here who want to do a split on the full set, and you may be able to pickup just the parts you need. Splits will usually take the cost of the doll, and divide it up between several people without adding any markup.

The upside to the Sailor Moon characters is that there is a doll maker on Facebook who already does Sailor Moon uniforms. I think it was Hina's Collections https://www.facebook.com/hinascollectionbjd/ but I no longer recall for certain. The upside would be they already have the patterns for a DD sized outfit, and that should save you some money over asking someone who has to do it all from scratch.

Many are sold out now, but Dollremi makes Sailor Moon outfits.
