Haruka Posted June 9, 2020 Salutations everyone! My nickname is Haruka. I don't own a DD, Smart doll, or Obitsu but I've always been curious about them since I own BJDs and I'm a long time member on DoA, which I go by the same nickname. I first found about DD due to the DoA and my best friend who had one but didn't like them so I didn't think much about them until about 2 years ago. Vinyl staining was a turn off for me until a person at a meetup for both DDs and BJDs made a point. "BJDs yellow just like vinyls stain if you like them then it doesn't make a difference." Which he had a valid point and thus why I'm here! Anyways, two years ago I found out about smart dolls and I really like their style and designs. I don't know if I rather have a smart doll over a dollfie though and looking at other people's pretty dollies in person or via internet (like here) can really help me and make a difference when I eventually make the leap to getting a vinyl dolly. BeyondTime Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) Welcome, SmartDolls, Obitsu, and Dollfie are all nice. One benefit to Dollfie, if you have SD's your clothing will generally fit DDs of the same form factor. A lot of clothing makes produce dolls in the SD form factors as well. I would say SmartDolls have the second largest set of options for clothing, and there are makers who specialize in SmartDoll clothing. There is limited interchangeability between SmartDoll outfits and DD outfits. That said, pick the one you feel the most connection too.
