1/6 scale vinyl TinyFox Dolls!

I ended up emailing Tinyfox to ask about the other skin colours. I asked if they would be offered in future or if I should just buy a new white head. Here is their reply in case it helps anyone else:

”I'm sorry that when you bought the head, we had no pink body for sale anymore. For your questions, I will give you two tips: 
 

The first suggestion: the new body will also have a pink complexion in the future, but it may not be so fast. It also depends on whether there are enough people to have this demand. If the demand is too small, we cannot produce it. You can't buy a matching body anymore.

The second suggestion: I highly recommend that you buy our new body and match it with a white-skinned head. You can buy it through Taobao. They are also very cute.

In addition, we now have websites purchased by overseas users. We will update a part of the full set of products when new products are on the shelves. I hope you can browse them if you have time”

 

I’m still not sure what I should do, if I should wait and see or if I should just cut my losses and buy the body with a new head. I don’t really mind waiting, but I also really like the new head. I’ll think on it some more.

As for the last paragraph and the instruction to ‘buy (the head/body) from taobao’, I’m wondering if it means the international site will only be for full sets..?

Hmm... that does make it sound like they might only be selling fullsets on the international site...

I believe what they mean to say is that they will add the fullset lineup to the overseas website when they have access to new stock that are quite possibly still under development/production. Right now, taobao's the main go to for items that are readily in stock. 

As for the response regarding skin colours. What they're saying is along the lines of the other skintones being planned but would still require some time before release, and even then it would depend on the demand for specific skintones, if it's too small to justify the production there's a chance that it could be discontinued. 

So at present, their best recommendation is to purchase a matching white head to go with the body since that's the most plausible option right now. It depends on how urgently you want it I guess.

Seeing all the dolls together is super cute! And it looks like there's some unreleased ones as well.

I couldn't resist any longer. I brought the full set of the fox doll cuz she's so cute. This year have brought a few yo-sd size dolls so hopefully they can share clothes.

Btw, I brought from Clover Singing since I brought a lucky doll from them earlier this year. 

I got the fox fullset as well 😭 It looks like their Taobao shop just has a small deposit fee required right now, which I'm thankful for. Still gotta finish Christmas shopping... RIP.

It’s really cool to see more JP attention to the brand, especially with tinyfox directly addressing jp fans for apprently the first time. It makes me wonder if there’s any chance of collabs with jp IPs down the line - since one of their earliest releases was Hatsune Miku (in the outfit from her Chinese release). It was so early on that she still had the Dollzone logo on the images. I’d love to see a rerelease of her with their current fullset quality.

This is the first image I've seen of the 1/4th doll bending it's elbow's further than, like, 70 degrees. Looks like they work a bit like dollfie dream elbows. I wonder if they have to be reset like those too.

Is the 1/4th doll more comparable to a minifee or a mdd?

Hmm... that's strange. I have a 1/4 Naya (the one with blue hair in the above pic) and her elbow definitely does not bend more than 90 degrees and the joint there seems to be fixed and you can't really pop it out to bend her elbow more without potentially damaging her arm and elbow. But maybe the other newer 1/4 dolls have/will have a different elbow joint??

Edit: And I do happen to have a minifee and a MDD, so here's a quick comparison shot. Here is my MDD Mochi-Ashi Reimu, TinyFox Naya and Minifee Mika. I don't have a regular MDD and only have a boy Minifee, but I'd say TinyFox's 1/4 dolls are closer to Minifee in size?

Naya can touch her head too (if you move her shoulder as well), but she can't touch her chest.

And her elbow joint looks different from the one in that Instagram post?? The Instagram girl looks like her elbow joint has been popped out or maybe even changed (??), but try as I might, no matter how much I tug and pull, Naya's elbow joints cannot be pulled out and they don't seem to be designed to do so.

My Kiki finally arrived at Spreenow yesterday, I'm not having her shipped quite yet but I'll be interested to see if she has the 'pull out' double joint.

I wonder if the arm has to be heated before you pull it out like that? I've heard the TF vinyl/pvc is quite hard compared to a DD so the outer shell might need some heat and loosening to get the extra joint out, which is kind of annoying but maybe.

You were right about having to heat the outer shell! I blasted it with a hairdryer for around 30 seconds and after much wriggling and tugging, a double elbow joint emerged!! Thanks for the suggestion! Her arm has a much greater range of movement now~!

It seems like I'll need to heat her arm up again if I want to push it back in though, but the joint is actually quite secure and her arm doesn't seem in danger of falling off or anything. So I think I'll pop out the double joint of her other arm as well and just leave it like that.

And yes, her vinyl/PVC shell is certainly much harder than a DD. She is much more solid too and weighs around the same as resin doll her size.

I did some cursory googling and it appears that the improved articulation is from a second iteration of the body.

Oh wow, that's so great to see! A bit annoying that you have to heat them up to use the extra joint (and then heat it back up to slide it back in, sounds like an absolute nightmare for photography) but it's cool that they added it anyway lol. 

The TinyFox team seems very responsive to feedback. It's likely that they are working on an updated version of the 1/4 body with easier to use joints.

I think my Snow White shipped? She was included in my Taobao consolidation order with a fairly heavy weight so I guess we'll see next week!

That's great news and so quick! Only 2 and a half months? I hope this means mine will be shipping soon too!

Oh! I just got a shipping notice for my Snow White from Clover-Singing!! I ordered at the end of Sept, so that's around 2 months for me! Naya took 4 months to ship. I hope this means Koi-Jian and Fox Fairy will take only two months as well!

On another note, I spotted a 1/6 TinyFox Patty on Dollyteria and snagged her as I love her mischievous little face!😅 

Amazing news!! I ordered from New Clover on Sept 9th with a bunch of shoes, I hope I get a notification soon too!~
