From what I understand, they’ve changed the material the doll is made of to prevent staining (or at least make it harder to stain) so likely it is both camera and batch difference, but otherwise likely the same color.

Oooooh she's so cute! If I bought 1/6 I would 100000% order her. Her eyes and sculpt are especially cute, I like the orange against the navy blue scheme.

You're right, the new body looks more peachy, the old looks more yellow.

It could be a mix of things; the older model might have yellowed a bit over time, or it might just be that batch. Depending on the manufacturer, tones can change a bit from batch to batch. Or the new models are just more peachy.

I'm actually not sure, the hood is shaped kind of like a manta ray head, but the name Poison sounds more like a stingray, since manta rays aren't poisonous! ... Those are some of my favourite animals hehe sorry 😅

Stingrays aren't poisonous I think... Venomous yes, but I don't think eating one will kill you. Venom needs to be inserted into the bloodstream to kill you, for context. I was under the impression that the character's name was punning/misspelling on "poisson" which is French for fish. The hood is probably what screamed manta ray for me, since it looks like one.

So she is a manta ray? Devilfish is a term for them (I looked it up)!

Oh the poisson thing sure makes sense! And yeah, the hood is more manta shaped, and there's no spike on the tail. Also I always get that poisonous/venomous thing wrong orz...

Are you talking about Ayumist? I’ve used her for Taobao and FCS stuff before and I’m really thankful she got me stuff I probably couldn’t have gotten any other way, but I had some gripes with certain aspects of her services.

Oh, I keep hearing of this Sue person recently! It really depends on her rates and payment methods, but I’d be interested in joining the Discord server at least. And yeah, Ayumist proxies all kinds of stuff, which is convenient if you ever want to add stuff onto an FCS order.

Does anyone know about 20cm cotton dolls and if their wigs/clothes fit tinyfox 1/4 or 1/6? I see them a lot on etsy but can't find their proportions.

These are all the rage in Japan right now. Even Azone and popular fabric shops like Okadaya and Yuzawaya sell them. They’re called Oshinui (推しぬい) and they’re sold by Kiyohara. “Oshi” is the character you stan and “nui” is short for nuigurumi, but also is the verb ‘to sew’ since you’re supposed to sew them yourself.

I’ve seen them around but don’t know a whole lot about them personally. They seem to come in three sizes. Idk if the sizes are similar enough that they can all share clothes, but I think they’re way too small to fit 1/4 TinyFox. They’re more likely to fit 1/6 TinyFox.

I tried to find the measurements, and it looks like the 20cm dolls are generally 6-7.5cm in width (bust, waist, and hips all the same) and 7.5-10cm for the body's length (not including the head)

It looks like a Tinyfox 1/6 body is about 20cm (without head) give or take, so I think the clothes would be too wide for the shoulders/neckline but too small for the waist and hips, and also wayyy too short.

It sucks though, the cotton dolls have such cute clothes!

I didn't know they were called Oshinui in Japan! I usually saw them referred to as cotton dolls or kpop dolls, probably cause the most recognizable style of these cuties originated with kpop stans. I didn't know that people were supposed to sew them themselves primarily either (I have three of these things but I did want to sew some myself, wanted to do an OC interpretation of my avatar in an online game)! It does stink that these dolls can't share with TinyFox dolls though, considering the adorable nature of a majority of outfits they have, but the Minor Planet shop on Taobao mainly makes cotton doll clothes, and I bring this up because they also make YoSD size clothes, and I'm pretty sure those clothes are compatible with TinyFox dolls!

Thank you for all the replies. I also just saw that the head circumference is 37cm, not 20cm like I was hoping. I was trying to find good anime style wigs for Vivienne because her head is 19.5cm.

7-8 inch wigs are what you will want to look for! Licht (Taobao store), Hannasu, and Leekeworld all sell wigs in that size! Most wig sellers do, seeing as that's standard MSD wig size!

I do custom costuming for these dolls, they've been in the kpop/cpop community for years now. They are impossible to scale to any BJD/MJD; they're wide, but very very short and roughly 1/3 head. They don't have necks, so shirts/dresses have no necks, only an opening straight to the shoulder line. They barely have hands, so the sleeves are just meant to fit little nubbins. Each doll is made by a different factory (homemade ones are kind of a new thing) so the measurements have HUGE variation (we're talking 2~3 INCHES) and being so squat, the length of everything is very short. I cannot think of a single doll they would be able to share with, they're just a totally different shape. They're closer to being a teddy bear, honestly. People get confused because they "wear" 5cm shoes, but they actually don't "wear" them so much as you jam their little nubbin feet into the 5cm shoe which gives them a flat enough platform to stand on. And their heads are massive, so the wigs are 2x to 3x bigger than a 60cm size BJD/MJD would wear.

The wording of this gives such a delightful visual hahah.  I have a love/hate relationship with these cotton dolls - they're so stinkin cute that I totally want one, but their stuff always populates when I'm trying to look up 1/6 clothing for my Tinyfoxes (the curse of using 30cm as a keyword), and I get excited seeing something cute in a thumbnail only to realize it's...not the right item :').

My search queries look like a madman trying to crack a code, just throwing in every possible keyword to try and catch a good listing lmao.  It's so much easier to narrow down on YahooJapan/Booth/Mandarake/bjd sites etc, but elsewhere on the western web I feel like I'm just flinging words at the wall and praying it will give me a shirt that isn't actually for MSDs once you click the listing.

I'm going to tell myself that release looks too similar to Poison's default makeup, but I know I'm lying to myself and am going to end up preordering anyway and say they're twins 🥲 the fullset is to die for!
