I got an idea just in this moment.

 

Maybe it would be helpful to get help in finding remakeups (pictures)

It would be interesting to see how girls can look after a remakeup ...

Maybe you search a special head and need help? ...

Or you found a special remakeup and want to show? ...

This is an interesting topic! As a fan of customs myself, I would love to see all the HDD-# heads in alternate face-ups!

 

To start off, we could have a short debate on how we could use other collectors' photos of their DDs (presumably with their permission) and post it here for reference? It'd be great if the users here post their own pics of their dolls, but the decision is reserved to them. And thus, I'll leave the discussion here for everyone to brainstorm on. In the meantime,

She is so dark, like a vampire, imho! I like her a lot.

I love this thread! I'd love to see dolls redone!

 

Here's my own girl, she actually hasn't been entirely repainted, I just enhanced her current faceup. It's a DD Neris, and I gave her a bit more color, and freckles.

 

Oh wow Littlebearies, I love how you did the freckles on your Neris! She looks adorable, love her face-up~!

Neris is looking so nice now! Looks like she put just a little make-up, a subtle one, like she was going out with friends.

These aren't remakeups of limiteds (although you can look through them to find the couple limiteds in the mix), but here are some photos I have collected over the years from auctions. Most are older and pre-date the 04 head.

 

 

I think it is really fun to see how different the standard heads can be.

Nice compilation, Mitsuki! I agree, I love seeing the variety people get out of the standard heads. It's why I love periodically going to Momoiro Manbou's page now and again. The variations he's gotten out of the heads is incredible! He even can make me start to like heads I usually don't.

 

I suppose too I should mention Agatha. I got her second-hand, and the faceup her first owner gave her was very different from what I ended up giving her.

Wow, you are right! Agatha looks so totally different! Her whole attitude changed. That is such a cool look you were able to give her. She looks like just the type a girl to build wormhole generators.

Sure! This is an older shot, before she evenhad glasses.

 

 

Though sadly comparing more recent shots to this one I can see that, much like Manami 1.0, Agatha's current faceup has faded somewhat. So I may soon have another contribution to make! Have to get a stupid commission done first though.

May I ask where you purchased her eyes? They're lovely ^^

I love what you did to Neris, LittleBearries and Agatha was cute before and still is Poofiemus. She looked a little more girlish before.

I just found a site called blackswan. They seem to like remakeup-ing limited head. Seems like they redid the faceup for Lily, Miu, Rina, Yuki, Rin, Tamaki, Sasara, and many more. The style is not really my cup of tea but still interesting to look at ^^.

That is so interesting to look at. They have some really valuable limited heads. I have to admit looking at a re-made-up Yuki is so strange.

Nice find! I'm not too fond of the very heavy mouth extending some of them have, but I do like the eyelashes personally. I think this girl is probably the one that struck me most, which is odd seeing as before I would consider myself a passing Miu fan at best. This nearly made me a convert!
