Thanks!  It's actually 2B's default.  She's really cute and captures Venus well.

No, she’s still out for delivery. XD

I usually get them around noon or I’m the last stop of the day. 

Edit: She arrived, we had a new driver and he couldn't find my apartment, but at least he texted and I was able to meet him.

Ah so jealous everyone's Venus is arriving already! Perks of DHL shipping. Mine has just left Japan and is coming through EMS, then the looong process of customs is awaiting. I'm hoping she will be here by the end of the week. Her uniform scanned in my country today!

Does anybody have any advice in regards to piercing her ears?

@hats I pierced all of my girls ears with a thick sewing needle. I marked their ears with a pencil beforehand to make sure it's fairly symmetrical.

You can also use a pin-vice to make the holes.

I don't trust myself with any power tools. XD;; But if you use a thick sewing needle, do you need to heat it up first or just push it through the vinyl? I have neve pierced any of my dolls ears yet.

A pin vice isn't a power tool. It's basically a mini drill bit with a handle, and it's operated manually. You can get them through hobby stores, and through auto-part supply catalogs.

She got here so late last night all I had the energy for was unboxing her, swapping on an S-Bust, and tossing a bikini on her.

She's perfect, her face couldn't be sweeter.

I pushed it through the vinyl (I used a doll needle specifically), I didn't think of heating it up first tbh. Be very careful not to hurt yourself, it requires a bit of power to push it through the ear. A pin vice is definitely a safer option.

I've always read don't touch Vinyl with hot metal.

My big concern would be if the needle bends or snaps you could gouge the doll.

One thing with the pin vice, once you go through you do need to run the drill through the hole a few times to really open the path up. Otherwise the earrings will be too tight, and they're easy to bend

It's better to use a drill bit that is too small and run a larger one through on a second pass than to start with one that is too big, you can't put the vinyl back once it's been cored out. I usually hold the bit up against the earring post, and pick one that is slightly smaller than needed as a starter.

There’s also a maker on Etsy who makes magnetic earrings for Smart Doll.  I’m not sure how big the back magnet is or if it would even fit behind the ears on a DD head (since they stick out and aren’t flush to the skull as SmD ears), but I’ve been tempted to order some, since I’m nervous about drilling into a limited head...

I felt the same way, but decided that my dolls aren’t getting sold so might as well pierce their ears. 

I do much prefer the idea of magnets.

But magnets.... I really like that idea. In the reviews for that Etsy seller there is a photo of the earrings on a DD head. But you have to buy this kit that comes with the back magnets (the first link is only the front earring part). I'll check out a hobby store soon and see if I can figure something out myself.

Neodymium magnets should be all you need.  They're very strong for their size, so if you have a few laying around from other doll things (or you pick up a pack online/in your store of choice), they should be good enough.  You may have to experiment with a few to see how big of a magnet you need, but I imagine not very large at all, as they really are super strong.  You can just tape them inside the head, just like with the Dollfie Icon fantasy ears.  Of course, the earrings need to be magnetic, too!

Looks like they had leftovers after all. 

I have seen that they have mars and mercuri in preparation like the venus and ai dolls.

Of course Volks decides to sell more online after I bought Venus's head off yja. I'm going to try click war anyway, good luck to anyone else!

Oh well, I had her in my cart and when I finally was able to click on the payment button and paypal was loading I got the out of stock notice for her.  ;-;

Same thing happened to me! But it says backordered so it seems they may release more of her.

I suppose the page is always saying that shortly after it got sold-out. ;-; But yeah...who knows.
