Mahoro Posted February 7, 2012 Bleh, this thread is making me consider just making my 4 new girls out of DDII bodies Nothing wrong with doing that. You could go with the body type you already know to start with, while Volks works the kinks out of the new design. That also saves you some money versus buying a bunch of Yukino dolls for the DDIII she's on. It's always possible to swap it later if you change your mind and want the posability instead. I was actually meaning to wait till they release the DD3 body as a standalone, no sense getting 4 full sets when I don't intend to use the heads after all. Its not so much of a "change my mind" thing as it is "what will I do if that happens" possibility

Volks will only warranty things for 2 weeks after the initial purchase. So having a DDII Yukino, they won't cover that under warranty. And they don't sell DDII skeleton parts so you'll have to fix this with some plastic epoxy or a similar method to how PlasticFantastic did on the shoulders of the DD3. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

baldylox Posted February 27, 2012 I think dolldude is talking about a Version 2 (II) Yukino on a DDIII body. Ahh, if that's the case then he should definitely talk to Volks. Sorry for the confusion. carmen171 Posted February 28, 2012 When you're posing her do her shoulder joints have trouble holding the pose? That was my first warning sign that something was up with my DDIII. No. She is super sturdy. I just checked eveywhere and don't see any problems thus far, but I haven't played with her much either.... No. She is super sturdy. I just checked eveywhere and don't see any problems thus far, but I haven't played with her much either.... That's good for now, I played with my DDIII in the ways I play with all my DDII's and DDdy's and also my DDS and her armature cracked while I was dressing her. Even with care I think it works itself up to this point. My advice still is don't be timid and just enjoy playing with her, otherwise there's no point. If she breaks, you know there are fixes available to you. ^_^ Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews!
vhdangel Posted March 14, 2012 *sigh* I was unpacking Moe today, and realized her leg was making a weird sound. Sure enough, she's cracked. Her shoulders seem to be ok for the most part... should I consider filing a notch out of her arm peg? Also, will JB Weld work to help fix her leg, or could it hurt the plastic? I'm not looking forward to disassembling her. -_-

If you can take photos of what's wrong with it we may be able to figure out a solution for you. If you're up to it you can also mail your broken body here and we can see what we can do for her.. baldylox Posted March 14, 2012 *sigh* I was unpacking Moe today, and realized her leg was making a weird sound. Sure enough, she's cracked. Her shoulders seem to be ok for the most part... should I consider filing a notch out of her arm peg? That sucks to hear. But don't cut a notch in her arm pegs... just get some super fine grit sandpaper and sand her pegs down a little. Make sure to use 600-800 grit so you don't make any gouges or cuts in the peg. Doing this will make the peg smoother and easier to spin in the socket. It reduces friction and will help keep cracking from occuring as quickly. Also, will JB Weld work to help fix her leg, or could it hurt the plastic? I'm not looking forward to disassembling her. -_- DO NOT USE JB WELD! It will melt the plastic! Use this to fill in the cracks: http://www.permatex.com/products/automotive/adhesives_sealants/epoxies/Permatex_PermaPoxy_5_Minute_Plastic_Weld.htm I used this to seal the cracks in Mamimi's DDS should tubes and she is still going strong! If at all possible, use a toothpick to get that Permatex epoxy down into the cracks. When this stuff dries, it's rock hard. I also used it to repair the broken spine on Manami. The lower pegs broke off in her upper torso and I used this to epoxy them back into place. She has had no further issues at all since I fixed her last year. I highly recommend the Permatex to do DD skeleton repairs! If you decide to do this repair, feel free to ask me for info. I'm happy to help if I can. Exokiel Posted March 18, 2012 I did a small inspection today and found 1 crack The part where the inner frame holds her right leg has a crack. So far it seems that this spot isn't critical when you're doing normal poses, but stretching the leg sideways doesn't look healthy. When standing straight, the part where the leg connects to the upper body, looks irregular to the left leg. Also, is it normal that one of her knees seems really loose compared to the other one. The frame is tight, but the vinyl part covering the internal structure is shaky.
Amber Posted March 20, 2012 My Moe's shoulder blade cracked, basically. The "circular part" (don't know what to call it lol) snapped and broke off completely. This caused her arm to not stay in place... It kept falling out. -_- Even though I had won her months ago at her release, Volks International still sent me a replacement part for her at no cost at all. This happened about 5 weeks ago. Just thought I would say this since I read a lot of posts about people with broken Moe.

archangeli Posted March 21, 2012 wait what. saber is going to be mass produced? also i think that volks has fixed the later batches. If you only started into this hobby very recently, you may not know that Volks had a huge pre-order campaign for Saber Extra and Saber Alter version 2 last September. The pre-order period was for about 30 days, and if you ordered her, you'd be guaranteed one since Volks is producing them to order. Within days Volks announced that they had to have 2 shipping periods in order to fill the demand - so you can imagine that hundreds of people pre-ordered her, which is what we mean by "mass-produced." The Sabers have already started shipping out and soon there will be plenty of them on the market. I don't want to completely derail this thread - so if you have questions about the pre-order project, check out this thread Archangeli.net | Twitter: @MsArchangeli | YouTube: Archangeli

Galvatim Posted March 22, 2012 Argh! I just got my DDIII Aoi from Volks, and her leg has a crack all ready! I was just checking out all the joints before dressing her... Poor Aoi has to go back in her box for now...

Galvatim Posted March 22, 2012 That is terrible, Galvatim! Do you think it happened during shipping? I don't know... Aoi seemed pretty securely packed. I'm hoping to get a replacement piece. I sent Volks an email with a photo of the crack, I'll have to see what they say. I guess Mari's cloning process must have some bugs in it... I had to cancel my debit card due to fraudulent charges too, it's been a bad week for me...

Poor Aoi has to go back in her box for now... Is it the same place as mine? Then email Volks with a pic of the crack and they should send you a replacement skeleton part. They only replaced the thigh skeleton parts for me. Is your Aoi using the older DDIII skeleton or the newer one with the notches?
