(Pretty sure Aoi 2nd's other leg broke today...) Where is the break? This is making me wonder if I should track down a WS DD2 body for Lucy. Hmm. Actually, if it broke, I can't see it... But it seems a little loose... It's such a shame, the DDIII has a number of improvements. The elbows are awesome, and the knees don't have any major gaps on the front. I am thinking the same thing for my Saber Alter though.
Averis Posted April 5, 2012 Wow, I'm really sorry you guys have to deal with these issues. It is quiet disheartening. Especially with new girls coming in. I too have been thinking about a DDS, which seems to have similar issues. I had hoped by now these things would have been fixed. Especially by the time they started making the DDIIIs. In a small hobby like this one this kind of news will travel fast. They can't afford to have this kind of customer experience continue for a long time. It would certainly help if they replaced parts with improved ones. You see item recall lists in the stores all the time. This sounds like something that might need to follow the same idea. Customer care should take priority in a small and expensive hobby like this one.
initial Posted April 5, 2012 i actually gotten a spare DD2 body for my Saber Extra despite having the replacement upper torso internal frame send by Volks so i kind of understand everyone considering a WS DD2 body for Saber Alter or Lucy. Just pray that they are working on something to solve the problems. & to think Saber Extra instruction manual teach us how to take out the arms to wear the clothes...it just made things worse when you keep taking it out and insert the pegs into the joints which is clearly smaller than the pegs. misskale Posted April 5, 2012 Misskale, you and I have the same DDS body. My Mamimi looks just like your photos. I was able to repair her tho and so far she's been fine. Billy Mine's not broken, yet, though O_o I posted pictures because the parts looked different than the others that had been posted.
baldylox Posted April 5, 2012 Mine's not broken, yet, though O_o That's good to hear but I would sill be careful. I didn't do anything but swap out a bust on Mamimi and BOTH her shoulder tubes cracked completely thru on the tops. And I was super careful when pulling her apart and putting her arms back in. If I were you, I'd take some fine grit sandpaper to her shoulder pegs so they are smoother and slide well inside the tubes just to help lessen the chance of future cracks. I posted pictures because the parts looked different than the others that had been posted. Gotcha. Maybe I'll take some shots of Mamimi and Manami this weekend to show where they broke and how I fixed them. It may help people if they see after shots. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.

PlasticFantastic Posted April 5, 2012 I have Akira's DDS body and I haven't had any issues (unlike Moe's DDIII body which I've had a couple major material failures with!) Please visit my YouTube channel for helpful DD tips, tutorials, and reviews!
PrettyCranium Posted April 5, 2012 Well, I tried contacted Volks through Ren, who I bought Moe from. Ren actually bought Moe from someone else, so she had her friend send the letter to them. As expected, it had been way too long since the release of Moe for them to consider sending me a replacement part. This was their answer: Thank you for your email. We would like to inform regarding the after-sale service. We are truly very sorry, but unfortunately we do not offer after-sales service once two weeks have passed from the date of delivery. Furthermore, we are not able to provide after-sare service for items that have been purchased via third party sellers. We are truly very sorry. In this case, it is excluded of our after-sale Service, because roughly seven month has passed since we shipped all of order for this item. We are very sorry but we appreciate your understanding. "DDS Option Parts DDS-BF-01 Upper Torso Internal Frame/ Normal" can be used for Dollfie Dream Base Body III. We would like to ask you to consider purchasing it for your DD Moe 2nd version. We would like to apologize most humbly for not being able to live up to your wishes. We truly hope that you will continue to give Volks your support in the future as well. Sincerely So, I guess the good news is that you can use the DDS replacement upper torso part on the DD3 body. Has anyone actually tried this?

initial Posted April 5, 2012 I only know DD3 & the new DDdy seem to share the same upper torso internal frame so i guess DDS is the same. i think only external of the body are different for the type of bodies? anyone got problem connect the upper torso internal frame fully back to the lower frame, i seem to unable to put back fully for my Haruka with the external lower torso blocking it. Customer care should take priority in a small and expensive hobby like this one. I tried explaining that but Volks held fast that there is not an issue and they have not heard of any other problems. Two weeks warranty is not really even valid in the US, is it? They told me to purchase the internal skeleton piece as well, but it is not available - neither in the US nor in Japan. Volks Japan did not even respond to my inquiry regarding the issue. I am very disappointed in how Volks in handling this problem. I adore my girls and this company, so it makes me really sad. I held Hina last night (Moe 2) and her leg is loose. I have undressed her and I am afraid to as I figure her hip is broken like the pics I have seen. This upsets me so much. ~ ❥ Misheru...the *M* in H&M House of Vinyl ❥ ~ ℒℴѵℯ❤ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒) ˚₊✩‧ All your dolliehs are belong to us! ✩‧₊˚ ( ͒ ु•·̫• ू ͒)
Galvatim Posted April 7, 2012 I got a reply from Volks USA yesterday afternoon! Thank you for your comments and for providing us with the additionalphotos. We will definitely pass along your comments to the development team. After looking over the new photos and some consideration, since you contacted us within the original warranty period of two weeks our manager has decided that we can offer replacement for you. Please note that we cannot accept any requests after that period, regardless of the situation, because of the potential for user caused damage. Please let us know if this is something which you would be interested in and we can instruct you regarding how to do so. Sincerely, VOLKS USA Web Service Team Aoi 2nd has some staining due to her wig though, so I guess I should turn them down. That's my fault, for forging ahead on my photostories when I should have left her in the box. I'm just glad that they are passing along my comments.

PrettyCranium Posted April 7, 2012 Agreed, just ask for a new body and keep her head. They should be willing to do that.
baldylox Posted April 8, 2012 Agreed, just ask for a new body and keep her head. They should be willing to do that. I'll third this for sure. Let Volks replace the body and you keep the head. They should have no issues with that. If they do, raise hell. Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
battrastard Posted April 8, 2012 I agree with the above posts, Volks should at the very least step forward and give an even exchange, body for body. "Madness takes it's toll, Please have exact change!"
RaveOfNightmares Posted April 9, 2012 I received DDIIIDy Niimi Haruka last week, the new body seems to have some of the revisions to the joints already. The hip joint sockets appear to be pretty heavily reinforced, along with the previously mentioned slot channels on the hip and shoulder pegs. I have noticed one slight downside to the slot channels on the joint pegs, which is that they seem to have drastically reduced weight handling capacity so far, but they may resolve itself with time. On those notes, 2/3 of my current DDIIIs have at least 1 cracked joint socket. The first of those is my Momo (Moe 2nd), with 2 cracked shoulders, which I tried to fix with superglue, but her right shoulder simply cracked again in another spot. Momo's right shoulder currently has cracks in 3 separate places, and I'm at a loss as to how to fix it. As it stands right now, she can only hold very simple poses of the right arm, and only while wearing somewhat stiff long sleeved outfits. The second is my Yukina (Yukino 2nd), who recently slightly cracked her right shoulder. I discovered that my DDS, Akina (Akira), cracked both of her hip sockets, when I attempted to pose her and her right leg fell off, followed by the left. I'd post pics, but I'm too new, so the boards won't let me yet. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future. initial Posted April 9, 2012 after my replacement parts i reply with a cheeky email to Volks with question on how to do a thorough check for DD. nothing against them, just curios about what is their way of checking? This is what I gotten. Thank you for your reply. We are very sorry for delayed reply. Please assemble the body, try to move all the joints (hands, arms, stomach etc.) and check if there are no difficulties in moving the parts. If you find no problems with moving all the joints, you may set your mind at ease, because the quality of the product is good. Nevertheless, there is a possibility of joints becoming stiffed. It happens because of the atmospheric pressure. Therefore please understand that it is natural that there might appear some differences between the movements of the right side and the left side joints. If you have any further questions about the body please feel free to contact us again. Sincerely, but i found the crack despite my Saber arms are moving fine..... well can't complain much since they send me replacement parts even when it is out of the 2 weeks period. i guess they consider case by case for those exceed 2 weeks. RaveOfNightmares Posted April 10, 2012 Makes me a little nervous, but it's one of those accepted risks. It's also an opportunity for me to figure out how to fix it later. Superglue doesn't work very well as the issue is with the pressure of the pin inside of the socket for the shoulder and hip joints, the glue knits the joint cracks solidly, but the joint will just crack again in another spot later... Now I just need a dremel style tool, and some aluminum washers/rings for my next idea. 21 DD girls: Mio, Marina, Yui, Yoko, Nia, Lily, Arisu, Akina, Momo, Arisa, Yukina, Ayaka, Niimi, Eri, Millefeuille, Ekisu, Chitose, Miyabi, KOS-MOS v.4, Hatsune Miku and God Eater Alisa. 2B in a hopeful future. Super glue is indeed useless. You need to use Permatex Plastic Weld Epoxy. I have used this to great effect and it hardens like cement. No recracking with this at all. Here's a picture of it: You can get it at local auto parts stores and sometimes Walmart or Kmart. It costs about $8 USD and is the best thing since sliced bread. Galvatim Posted April 10, 2012 Well, Volks USA doesn't want me to send just the body... They only want the thigh piece! So, although poor Ai will spend a couple weeks with only one leg, she should end up with two fully functional ones when this is all done.
