Parabox Reports 60cm Bodies as Discontinued

As seen here, it seems that the 60cm bodies are discontinued? I asked why, and I'll report back when/if I hear anything, but I have to say this is... upsetting, because I adore their posing compared to SmD/DD and I adore even more the pricetag attached. Anyone have any idea what's up with this? Do you think they're getting out of the SD market? I know the male bodies havde been discontinued for ages (and the two I have secondhand are incredibly janky after so much time,) but... man I really hope that's not the case. 😧

There was a tiny bit of discussion about this you can find here:

@OccultBeast thank you... I hope they aren't leaving the 1/3 market entirely for good, that would be... well, frankly, that would suck! I had always presumed that after MDD/MSD, SD was the most popular scale, but I might be mistaken? I don't know, just... man I hate to see this. Guess I better go put out a WTB for 55cm/60cm bodies, because I still need some. All I can hope is that they'll release another SD-scale body at some point... I mean if they can do their 1/2 and 1/1 scale bodies (Otohime and Obitsu 150cm respectively) then I don't see why throwing some 1/3 bodies into the lineup would be too much trouble, at least I hope not!

It's just stressful. I really love their poseability and affordability and this has thrown a wrench in the plans for some floating heads I have.

I never had a 60cm female body, but I personally hated the posing on the 55cm male body, even when new. Maybe the females were better.

My impression of the situation was that they no longer wanted to manufacture the bigger bodies because it requires a different frame, and is no longer popular enough compared to the smaller bodies using the more modern frame type. It would be nice if they would bring them back someday using the newer frames.

I think the success of their 50cm line has just surpassed the sales they had with the 60cm. For 50cm, not only do they have their own original dolls, but they're also manufacturing 50cm for Parabox, Azone, Angel Philia and Visua Doll. In comparison, I rarely see 60cm girls anymore.

That all makes sense, sad as it is. It's still a disappointment for me personally- I remember always wondering why no one used the 60cm bodies for things, honestly. All the companies you mentioned went with 50/55cm bodies instead, and that's such a weird size to me, so I never really understood why things worked out that way. I never really saw Obitsu promote their 60cm bodies much, either, let alone the male bodies (which @Jezrah the 55cm male came from hell to vex me, the 60cm girls are quite nice ime though!) How much smaller are the 50cm dolls? I don't think they'd be able to wear the clothes that my DDs and stuff do at that size. I have wanted to get into DDPs, but...

I was hoping maybe Obitsu were going to release a double-jointed 60cm body (or rerelease the males, PLEASE someone make a male vinyl doll that isn't like pulling teeth to get!) but I guess my hopes are dashed. ^^;

It is pity. Obitsu 60 cm was my first anime doll. I noticed on their fb page they often post kewpie stuff. I like bitsu 60 body but 50 cm body seems more superior in design compared to 60 ones (even that 60 cm obitsu body was second generation). Also maybe it is Because of other 60 cm dolls which dominate the this field of anime doll market? I cross my fingers to you @Mothiraffe in this mission. Good luck.

There's a ton of variety between the various 50cm Obitsu bodies. Height-wise, they're pretty comparable to DDP.

The Azone AZ02 are very curvy. Their hips are around the DDS hip size, the G bust is close to a DD-M and the I bust is between DD-M and DD-L. Currently my girl with an I Bust is wearing a dress designed for resin SD girls and it just BARELY makes it around her bust.

Angel Philia range from as curvy as the AZ02 to as slim as the DDP, depending on the body.

Obitsu's default 50cm is super-petite and can generally fit DDP or MDD clothing, depending on which bust you get.

I'm still salty about this.

I had no idea they were discontinued for ages. I missed out on snagging a 60 body on Mandarake,  so I went straight to parabox and saw it wasn't listed... so I google and see this. So sad 😕

If it helps, despite their discontinuation, 60 bodies are still out there - Azone has of couple 60cm licensed dolls for cheapish on Manda, and those all use Obitsu's 60. There's also a 60cm body left on doll peddlar, still in box. You'll probably need to lube the joints though - a doll in storage that long will get creaky.
