I'm not interested in buying them, but really curious as to how they will turn out.

Do we know when they will show more details? Cinderella and Rapunzel are my two top favourites, but I can resist since they already came out before I was aware of them lol.

Nope - I though it'd be around now, since this is when the movie came out originally, but still nothing. I really hope it's before December so I can know if I'll be able to afford entering the DD one-off lottery on the off chance I don't actually like Elsa.

The next Doll Party isn't until December 20th but it doesn't look like there's any Frozen stuff in the advert so hopefully we won't have to wait until then?

Thanks for the info, I'm new to all this Volks stuff. I've been reading up on lotteries and things like that!

Worried that we won't be seeing the girls until mid-late December, after the D'coord lottery is over.

I mean there's a very good chance I won't win either of the dolls I like even if I do enter, and I guess I could always sell them after if I really need to...but ugh. Unnecessary stress.

Yeah I thought we would have heard something by now. Doesn't make much sense to announce them on the next Dolpa since they're definitely 'winter dolls'

They could have a reveal at the December Dolpa.

The difference between Dollfie Dreams and Heroin? Heroin is illegal, Dollfie Dreams probably should be.

“Empty wallets, full hearts.” That’s probably an apt description for the effects of DD addiction

I would be surprised if they showed them there. There have been no hints about when we will get any further info about them. I am just hoping they are revealed sometime this winter.

I don’t think they’re going to be at Dolpa physically, if there’s nothing on the site about a display. What might happen is they might show a big image of them during the announcement portion as a ‘surprise’, like how they initially revealed Cinderella.

I think something has delayed them (like covid) and I’m no longer expecting to see them this year. They’re almost certainly not actually releasing this year whether they’re shown or not. (Still, would be nice if they could give an updated release estimate)

I'm totally fine with them being delayed a bit (I have other dolls I want to spend Christmas money on), I just want to know when they're coming.

That's pretty much what I am expecting, a detail reveal and maybe a photo of the finished dolls.

I am expecting something about them to be a surprise given how they have been teasing them bit by bit.

Seeing some of the Dear SD on the Volks News 90 pages, it's a perfect fit for little Elsa and Anna.

an Ice Queen reveal seems extremely on point for Christmas/New Years ....

I don't even like that movie very much [don't @ me], but somehow am extremely interested in seeing little Anna in resin form

Hahaha! I actually do not get the 'hype' around it myself. I associate with Elsa, which is why I like it. . . I also prefer Frozen 2 to the original despite it being messy. Frozen 2 follows a story more like Brave which I am fond of.

I haven't bought a doll for quite some time and what I'll buy depends on whether I like the Frozen girls or not so I would really like to know how they look like!

Frozen 2 was a good film, and in my mind deserves a lot of credit for building out the setting into more than just a stage called Arendelle where Anna and Elsa stand while doing important stuff. I like the first film better for a lot of reasons, but the importance the second film has to the Frozen universe can’t be understated.

Frozen has the distinction of taking the fairytale princess trope and turning it on its ear.

In Frozen Elsa really redefined what a Disney Princess is and can be, and imo that’s why she is bigger than all the other princesses. Frozen 2 built on that.

Spoiler

When she rides off to Ahtohallan it really showcases her strength and independence. She’s the queen, but she’s also the heroic knight riding off into danger.  I’m not sure there is a precedent for that in a Disney heroine.

Are we getting into Frozen 2 discourse here? My problem was that I liked a lot of the cut songs and plotlines more than the stuff that actually made it into the final product. Also (without getting into spoilers here) some of the plot points/situations/actions of the characters and the magic beings just didn't make sense or seem logical upon further reflection.

I know it wouldn't have been as big and fancy, but I kinda wish they had done a tv series instead of a sequel movie, like they did with Tangled (and will be doing with Tiana and Moana). Then they would have had more time to explore and expand on the lore and character arcs. I'm hoping they do end up making a series at some point - it's not like the franchise isn't popular enough for it! - because I do really love these characters and want to spend more time with them.

I had wondered if maybe they were going to hold on to the reveal until Christmas, as a surprise maybe?

That surprises me, because this was their big end of year winter event and the first Dolpa in almost a year.
