simplyemme Posted October 6, 2020 Hi. I recently bought a MDD and she's my very first vinyl doll. I plan to knit sweaters for her but am worry about the staining. What have been your experiences with knitwear?
Poofiemus Posted October 6, 2020 I've done a little knitting for my dolls--I'm not very advanced so nothing has been fancy. Polyester and acrylic fibers basically have the color molded in, they're pretty safe for dark colors. I've had okay luck with cotton so far, knock on wood. Wool is usually dyed, i'd be cautious with darker wool. 3 In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.

But overall, it sounds promising since I tend to use cotton/acrylic mix so it may be okay 👍 Edited October 6, 2020 by simplyemme
Veravey Posted October 6, 2020 Thanks for this topic, guys, I'm commissioning a sweater soon. I'm guessing a lighter to mid-coloured mohair lace yarn would be ok?

And yes, mid to light tones are probably safest with animal fibers. I did a rather over the top cardigan for my Smart Doll boy in white wool that has been very safe. 2 In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser. You have to soak pieces you make to block them, may as well wash them with dish soap and vinegar while you're at it. 2 In this household, sanity is considered a tresspasser.
