MDD Mochi body

Hi there!

I was wondering, what would a normal DD head look on one of these bodies? 

I am kind of drawn more and more to the smaller bodies and kind of want a DDP too but these are so much more portable haha. I don't wanna spend loads of money on something that will look daft, namely I would like to put Miku's DD head on top.

If I had the money I would order Reimu but alas Covid is evil.

Hey there! Personally, I'd avoid putting Miku's head on a Mochi-Ashi body; the proportions of Miku's face are too tall and wide to be a good fit for the smaller, chubby body. If it's a Mochi-Ashi you're after then I would recommend any of the MDD character sculpts like Liliru or Ushiromiya Maria, for example, along with DDH-01, DDH-04, DDH-10, DCH-12/13, DCH-17, DCH-19/20/21 and DDH-22.

I’m glad folks with actual MDD experience replied. I would definitely defer to @DML and @Selenae’s experience on look.

I did want to add that technically you can put any DD head on any DD body, but the aesthetics are a different story. Larger heads can show a neck gap on the smaller torso. 

I've got a DDH-06 head on my MDD Mochi Ashi body.  I think it works well.  

Thanks for the replies guys! For some reason my emails didnt show that I received them :? Hmm fair enough, so it's a "yes you could" but proportions might be off. All I know for sure is that I would love to get a MDD and I mean I have snow Miku too and she has a cuter face up which might work?

Thank you for the suggestions! And what about snow Miku? Would that be the same issue? I would love to get Maria! Her head is so cute. I might try and get a blank head if all else fails and get a custom face up, i'm sure there is someone in the UK who does good face ups

You are in luck that Miku and a Mochi Ashi are the exact DDs that I have, so I can also provide some photos of the hybrid.

Pardon the skin tone mis-match (and messy background), but here's about what it looks like. Personally, the MDD neck is a bit too short, so she looks a bit scrunched up, but if you're wanting a chibi look, and with the right styling it could work.

(I also threw in a photo of my DCH-21 head on Miku's body because why not)

Thank you so much for these photos (and for the laugh) I don't know if I should go for it or not... She has that chibi look but I personally think I might just get a blank head and get a Miku face up

The only head iv'e seen that doesn't look good on an MDD/Mochi body is the DDH09, but, it could be because of the faceup, it looked too big, IMO.
