I nabbed one of these from Mercari after seeing your post but sadly the scale is far too small. It's kinda comically large for my Mini Sweets (like those giant plush bottles) so they may end up with it but I'd say these are more 1/6 scale (I don't have any 1/6 dolls though so can't say for sure).

For anyone looking for alcohol for their Meiko I'd recommend just buying Underberg, I had some good success with those empty bottles as props even if a little offscale.

The same thing happened for me, if this is any help (other doll, however). I have the email and order seems fine on the webpage, and I do recall something like this happening with other orders (they blocked the amount initially and then charged it before shipment or something), so I think there is nothing to worry about.

That does not stop my paranoid self from worrying that they ditched preorders and will switch to lottery 😅

Meiko is gorgeous, and I have been thinking recently of getting a doll in anime style... but alas, no money. The unboxing videos are an amazing idea and I'm glad Volks is doing them.

Last night I lasted right up until the final hour of the final day, but ultimately lost. I think remembering that yesterday was the 3 year anniversary of getting Luka made me extra sentimental and before I knew it there was a Meiko shaped hole in my bank account...

I haven’t yet decided if I’m keeping her as is or making her into Meito, but I’ll figure that out when she gets here. Which might be around my birthday. (Unless they got so many orders they need to split the shipments, but thst wouldn’t bother me either.)

I’ve seen speculation that the upcoming 15th birthday of Kaito might lead to a Volks tease of a 2022 Kaito release. Not sure if that helps you or hurts you at this point.

Well, IMO they need an SD17 male equivalent on the DD side. Without this there can never be any sort of Dollfie Dream x CLAMP Bishie collaboration. XD

For that matter, characters like Goury Gabriev and Mamoru Chiba would require a taller body with broader shoulders. 

And Ranka and Sheryl need a valkyrie pilot to fight over...

I did finally cave on her mainly because of wanting her (or him) alongside Kaito. Technically it’s not his birthday that’s upcoming, he already had that in february. It’s Magical Mirai in October and November, which has confirmed a special Kaito feature for his anniversary - exactly like what happened with Meiko last year, and MagiMirai is the event the DDs have always been announced at.

I don’t expect Kaito to look like an ‘adult man’ though, because he hasn’t really been depicted as one for a while. He usually looks more like a teenager to me and he looks especially young in the recent Project Sekai game. I can definitely see him having a similar face to what we’ve seen so far if the Cryptonloids and not look out of place. (I would definitely prefer that than him looking overly mature, personally...?)

I’m trying not to be expect it but it’s kinda hard lol.

I saw last month that the Hatsune Miku Symphony announced a special 15th anniversary inclusion for Kaito just the same as with Meiko, which immediately only further heightened my anticipation that they'll announce a DD Kaito the same way as Meiko's, even though I've also been trying not to get my hopes up too much in case they crush all our dreams and deny us.  I just pray he's an open preorder like Meiko was.

Actually, my only real hope is that they don't drop Kaito and then rerelease the twins like, two months later, because I'll just throw myself into the sea at that point.

I'm seriously in trouble. I keep seeing pictures of Luka and Rin and thinking, man...they need to come home! Miku is definitely a gateway drug!

That’s my biggest fear too. Rin’s been my goal for a long time, but if I can’t get her for a good price then I’m considering settling for Kaito instead since he’s also a favorite. But as luck tends to go, it feels like I’ll have just given up on Rin and have paid for Kaito- only to get slapped across the face with a sudden Kagamine comeback. It’d be wallet abuse to get both....

As much as I’d like to say I’ll be patient and wait for the Kagas to return, I’m also worried wishful thinking will only cause me to miss out on Kaito, then there’s no Kaga rerun, and I end up with neither. 😔

For anyone curious, the final charge finally hit my credit card on the 14th, and I paid it off now. It was a big chunk, but I'm happy that it's no longer in limbo.

The first owner pics started to come out today, and I really like this one.

Unfortunately…there’s reports (and pictures…) of her having a black wig cap, which is extremely confusing and annoying to me. I knew DDs with black wig caps existed, but I always assumed they were some weird thing of the past I’d never have to deal with, since none of mine have ever had one. I don’t understand why on earth Meiko has one, especially given her wig isn’t even a particularly dark colour in comparison to to the others. So I guess I’m gonna try to get her a new one before she arrives if possible.

That really sucks on the wig cap.  Can report the black wig I got from dream choice recently has a black one, though that makes a little more sense - the staff did explain that I should use a wig cap with it so there’s that, but it’s annoying that third party shops will put work to put light wig caps under darker hair but volks won’t even for DD specific wigs...

Someone on mercari japan is selling her full set outfit, if anyone was interested. 

She's got a very sweet and delicate face, little different than I was expecting. Still glad I preordered her, but December is going to take forever to get here.

Uh…ok! This is some surprising news. While the people who ordered at Dolpa got their dolls early a few days ago, everyone else who ordered their Meiko or Rena through a Volks store/the webstore (ie most of us here) is gonna have theirs ship from next Saturday the 5th of June.

Obviously I’ve heard of delays all the time, but this is the first time in any of my hobbies I’ve heard of the opposite happening. Maybe they expected way more orders with an open preorder like that, and the ‘autumn 2021’ was just the maximum expected wait they gave for enough wiggle-room?

I personally wouldn’t have minded the wait, especially cos I don’t have a wig for her yet. I’m still very surprised though. Has anyone ever experienced a release date pushed so far forward like this before?

Ooh that’s surprising - I don’t think I’ve seen something that pushed up before.  I would think that yeah, it was a wiggle room/worst (or best in the sense they make more money) scenario estimate.  They probably over produced for what was ordered physically at dollpa, with corona dampening attendance not helping.  They haven’t announced similar for the SDs that were on offer so will be interesting to see when those start shipping.

I don’t think the SD release date will change, two were highly sought after rereleases and the other one is on a rare body that isn’t offered anywhere other than limited girls yet - SDGr Girl - I know multiple people ordered Lucia just for that) and SD take a good deal longer to produce than DD, firstly casting resin can’t be done as large scale as vinyl so they can’t produce as many at once, and secondly the faces are all hand-painted rather than the mask/screen print things DDs have.

We might even have Meiko (and Rena) before the teaser for the next DD, which I definitely didn’t expect.
