Removing heavy dust and lint on dolls

Hello all,

I have a few dollfies that I've neglected on the shelf over the years and now am trying to clean and maintain them. As i haven't touched them in years they have accumulated a heavy amount of dust and lint all over. Anything pleather, like boots, have white dust inside the corners that is hard to wipe out. There is a cobwebs and dust on clothes. How does everyone else clean their dolls and their clothes?

I've had mine end up in a similar state of neglect thanks to Big Depression. Once they get really grimey, I've found it best to undress them and to handwash their wigs, clothes, and shoes separately: just get a bucket or large bowl of cool water, add a couple tbsp laundry soap to break the surface tension, swish the things around, then rinse and lay flat on a towel to dry.

I end up doing this around once a year.

For routine dusting, I find a little hand-vacuum with a brush attachment works great for keeping clothes and wigs dust-free.
