Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 (edited) So a few weeks ago I put it an order to Dollypop using my deputy, Japonica Market. I ordered the 50cm 3 piece torso, including the bust piece, the belly piece, and the pelvis piece. After unpacking them I was pleased to discover that the vinyl is relatively soft, softer than the stock Obitsu pieces, but not quite as soft as the extra soft Angel Philia vinyl. The bust piece is particularly nice to handle. The sculpts on all three pieces are also nice. The belly piece has really nice details, including some delicately sculpted ribs. The breast shape is also really cute. It’s larger than the L bust from Obitsu for 50 cm girls. I can do a comparison of it with other bust pieces I have, if that’s desired. One of the big appeals of a three piece torso is increased flexibility, so I’ll show you what it can do! Edited December 23, 2020 by Gabihime
Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 Got your Jojo poses right here.
Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 With a very extreme back arch, there is a little gapping on the pelvis piece, as you can see.
Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 But if you’re careful, you can still get a beautiful back arch without gapping.
Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 All of these poses were done on a mag stand, with the doll balancing naturally and holding the poses for multiple minutes. I can say that I really like the Dollypop pieces that I’ve bought! I’m definitely going to buy some additional pieces from Dollypop in the future.
monkeypizzasonic Posted December 23, 2020 I love the idea of a 3-part vinyl torso, and your girl is super-cute! (Do you have a link to the site anywhere? I recall seeing it in another thread but I can't seem to find it again.)
Gabihime Posted December 23, 2020 Ah, yes, I’ll add the link to the first post! Here it is as well. Navigating her site can be a little challenging, since it’s one of those ancient Japanese frames sites from the beforetimes. She doesn’t have a cart system, so you actually order by email, which is why I used a deputy for the first order. It went super smoothly, so I’ll probably order on my own next time.
Gabihime Posted December 24, 2020 I should add that they have a number of bust pieces to choose from for both 50 and 60 cm (although most are designed for 50 cm, she shows them working with 60cm as well). The bust I got with my set is the largest one she makes for 50cm, which she calls the dynamite bust lol. You can buy the pieces separately, or if you want the set, you can get it with the bust I got. You can also buy the dolls whole with the parts already installed, which is cheaper than buying a new Obitsu as well as the parts.
baldylox Posted December 24, 2020 That is some amazing posing! I had no idea this kind of thing was available, thanks for sharing this with us! So does this work with the stock/default frame? Or does it come with other additional pieces? Billy I gave up counting the girls I own, they keep multiplying and won't stop.
Gabihime Posted December 25, 2020 It works with the default frame! The belly piece was the only part remotely difficult to get on, simply because of getting it over the interior skeleton was a little hard for me with my wimpy arms. It just required the hair dryer and some wiggling. This may also be because of the frame I have, since I don’t know how old it is having bought it second hand. Basically I just popped her head, arms and legs off and slid the pieces on! I think if I had made a small incision in the top hole of the vinyl of the belly part I could have saved myself some trouble lol.

It’s so funny how consumer desire and manufacturers designs flow with time. There’s always this back and forth between what is visually appealing for aesthetics, and what is visually appealing for posing. Just like sometimes we see a push toward single torso pieces, and then we see a shift back toward three piece torsos. I personally love having the options, but I know that companies can’t keep every type in production all the time.
chef_mai Posted January 13, 2022 (edited) I ended up getting a 3-piece-torso in part due to this review + the owner's patience in answering my questions. Thanks for the writeup! Edited February 8, 2022 by chef_mai
