Ken turned 60 today.

While I was never really a fan of Ken’s concept, he is probably the most famous boy doll there is.

This being a doll forum, even though we don’t allow the 1/6th Barbie types, it still feels appropriate to wish Ken a Happy Birthday. 

Ah, Ken. Memories! There were always too many Barbies and not enough Kens. I recall growing up and playing with my two older cousins, Sarah and Stacy, and them having just two Kens between them (3 if you include mine). Stacy decided to sacrifice one of her Barbies and shaved it's head and somehow managed to saw the breasts off. It was one of the scariest things I had ever seen when I was 5 years old, and I remember crying when she would bring it out and try to make one of my dolls go on a date with it. Anyways though, happy birthday, Ken! Ode to my first Ken doll.

 

I remember that as a young kid I was always embarrassed to undress Ken and would make my older brother do it.  This was before Barbies and Kens had the molded underwear and I distinctly remember Ken having a bit of a sculpted bulge there 😂

I definitely remember a bulge down there though I didn't know what it was. I think I told myself that's just a hidden coin purse/bag or something.

Hmm he aged well for 60?  Although I know my Ken dolls (two) have not aged as gracefully. LOL

LOL, I'm glad my story could make someone laugh. I miss my cousins all the time, but oh my gosh did we have some fun times together. I wonder if my cousin even remembers that doll, lol.

Maybe! I might try some day. Both my cousins chose different paths in life, and we started to lose touch when we were old enough to trade interests in dolls to boys. They both moved to another state, but I might just have to do that. I know they made childhood a blast
