Obitsu neck connector break

Hello all. I recently noticed that my oldest DD head with Obitsu body girl has a loose head. On inspection, there is no cracking in the head itself, but there is a crack in the plastic tube that inserts down into the Obitsu neck. Because there is a crack the little ball that sits inside the tube is now too loose, which causes my girl's head to be floppy. I know I can add epoxy glue to it, but is there anything that would be good to put around the outside as a reinforcement that will fit within the neck space? I don't think a little zip tie will work since it will leave a bump near the end that might stick out. I don't want to have to order a new part at the moment, but I will if this is the only good option.

Some stout electrical heat shrink ?

I used a bit on my little liberty mod project to tie the open two half end from coming open of the leg piece like this:

Might not have as much squeeze as a ziptie, also depending on what you can find, but might be worth a shot in a constrained place.

You could also try wrapping it with a thin, stiff wire, or maybe a wrap of Gorilla tape. Whatever you do if you put something on the outside of the tube you will probably have to heat the neck vinyl to get the tube of the neck piece back in there.
